Rollercoaster of a third. Consider that a good lesson for this team going forward not to let up in games. But at the end of the day they went out and grabbed a road sweep against a good team.

Couple interesting tidbits to this start of the season:

• Best start to the season for Maine since 2006/07 (that team started the season 7-0-0)
• First sweep at Lawler since February of 2015

They won’t be counting style points when they tally up the Hockey East standings at the end of the season….best road sweep in years!

Maine's first road sweep of a ranked opponent since a pair of OT victories on Chestnut Hill on January 24&25, 2020.

They let it get far too interesting in the third, but they got the win which is what matters most. Eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Eagles next weekend in Orono, won't be there to see it but will be watching on TV.

Barr will use that 3rd period near collapse as a good learning tool on how to finish a game. Good win with a taste of how quickly it can turn if they don’t finish strong.

What a weekend, that sweep is going to go a long way because I expect Merrimack to figure it out. 6 out of 6, can’t wait for next weekend. The Alfond is going to be electric.

I'm not taking anything away from Maine's sweep, but Merrimack played terrible defense. Maine players left all alone to score and Borgiel did not play well. If Maine can stay away from injuries, (particularly Ostman), I think they are at the TD Garden and beyond.

Really excited for this upcoming weekend for BC vs Maine. I have a ton of respect for what Ben Barr has done up there. I expect a great crowd in one of my favorite rinks in college hockey

Good win just the same, Maine dropped in pwr to 4th but who cares. Sweep on the road against a good team is impressive.BC at a rockin Alfond should be fun

Really disappointing "effort" from my Warriors. They've been very solid on D and Borgiel had been terrific. Goaltending and defense are how they're going to win this year.
Good luck to the Black Bears the rest of the way. Every night in Hockey East is going to be a battle.

The Hack is not ranked. Also receiving votes is not the same thing. You know better.

There are two polls. Merrimack and Maine were tied at 20th in the USA Hockey poll, as opposed to the USCHO poll in which Maine was 20th and Merrimack RV.

Polls continue to surprise me, Maine ranked #13 in the nation. I was expecting something like #16 or #17.
