Re: UMaine Black Bears 2017/18, Red dawn

How many "next years" do you have in you?

This year was another bad one -and, yes- Hockey East is as weak as its ever been, so even Maine's IC record blows, despite it looking a little better on-paper.

Five long years without any meaningful progress has been far more than enough for me.

No more. You know that.

Re: UMaine Black Bears 2017/18, Red dawn

This is factually not true. Maine’s schedule was around halfway and it was the conference schedule that brought it down. I’m not quite sure how Maine could have changed that.

26 Maine 110.2 26 99.2
14 Providence 197.7 27 98.9

Huh. Maine played almost an identical SOS as Providence. They're going to the NCAA tournament.

Code:
16	BC	16	119
17	BU	17	116.3
40	MC 18	116
35	CT	19	106
33	MA	21	104.2
43	VT	22	102.9
26	ME	26	99.2
14	PC	27	98.9
45	NH	28	96.9
37	ML	33	93.2
10	NE	36	88.4

Maine had the 7th toughest schedule in Hockey East. That could drop to 8th if Providence defeats Northeastern Friday since their SOS will pass Maine when they play either BC or BU on Saturday.

So, sound very bad for us. So we have no hope to win?

Re: UMaine Black Bears 2017/18, Red dawn

Quite the move by Fossier after the end of the game...frustration/dumb = yes but again another player to lose it after a series {Hamilton last week vs UNH}. Would not be surprised if Hockey East does not hand down a suspension to Fossier to start the 2018-19 season, like a 2 game suspension.

Re: UMaine Black Bears 2017/18, Red dawn

Fossier was frustrated, no doubt. Lift some weights and maybe you can can compete against a physical team like PC.

Maine, once again played 2/3 of a game well. Gave the game away in 1st and couldn't catch up against a better team. Been seeing Maine play parts of games for years, so nothing new .

Should be an interesting off season. Get used to Red being coach for awhile. I'm sure they will extend him.

New guys coming in sound good but I'll believe it when they are in Orono making a difference.

Oh well, there is always next year.

Leaman gave you guys some props in his tweet this morning "young program on the rise with a great staff". Good stuff in place for Maine next season.

A knowledgeable classy coach just trying to make the opposition feel good about their future. Coaches say this stuff all the time after victories.

Nice of him to say but it's just coach speak

Yeah I get that and I know it's the typical. Still you guys took a few steps forward; what are you losing next season? Still will have Swayman right?

Re: UMaine Black Bears 2017/18, Red dawn

Jeremy Swayman made 38 saves for Maine, while Hayden Hawkey stopped 14 shots for Providence.

Boy this reads "funny".

Maine made him stop 14 ****ing shots.
