UMaine '26-'27: The Bridge On the River Stillwater

Fowler and Scholle took shots that game. Holy Cross blocked a lot but Maine peppered the net. Couple bounces or saves their goalie made prevented a more lop sided affair. Fowler looked gassed/slow on that break away, but love everything about him. Good win

I don't think that they will be gifted a 5 minute major to start the game tomorrow night so will be interesting to see how this team responds to 5 on 5 out of the gate. Holy Cross will get some wins this season.....their tender definitely kept them in the game.

Liked the intensity, skating and general team work....refreshing! Goals might be hard to come by....hopefully more chemistry as the season goes on will lead to better scoring chances. Boija was a bit up and down but mentally seemed like in a much better place compared to last season.

One more thought, I'm really tired of the wingers playing center experiment. Four real centers is the #1 thing on my wish list for next season.
I would imagine Scholle goes to the wing when Scott comes back and when Komarov plays (which had me shocked he was scratched if that was the case).

There shouldn’t be a need to play him there, that said I thought the Fowler, Scholle, Alfano line was effective.

He settled right in after that goal too. Shades of last year a bit with the glove hand just not quick enough. Nice to see him stay composed and lock it down from there.

His 44th win tonight moved him into a tie with Matt Yeats for 8th on the career wins list. Howard/Swayman are both next in his sights with 47 wins each.

I wouldn't even have Albin in the same time-zone as Jimmy or Sway, but it's a decent '26-'27 start for sure.

Checked out the replay minus a few lapses in the second period- which is probably expected as they learn to play together and took a lead. Need to keep the foot on the gas. Team seems to be much more of Barr's style which is grind you down and then make you pay on special team advantages.

The only two games I wont see either live or in person all year because I refuse to pay flowsports and their shit coverage.

Plenty of line changes:

-Wickström Stumer in net
- Scott, Komarov, and Pichette return
