Before the season began, I thought they’d be good enough to compete with any D-1 teams except the most elite. After the St Lawrence opening weekend, it looked like finally they’d attracted talent and would mature and gel into a nationally competitive team again. With guys like Keeper,Tralmaks, Pat Shea and yes Swayman clearly playing worse than last year, with guys like Robbins at 0-0-0, my sense is that they just do not have the horses. The season is 1/3 over. How do they turn this around?Has the team quit already? or are they just not good enough to compete
I’ve seen 3 games thus far. I’m really surprised and disappointed that this Black Bear team gets blown out by an aggregate score of 9-2 by The Q over a late November weekend series. Q is a talented and disciplined team. Not full of superstars to be sure. By 12 games deep into the season, I was fairly certain that Maine would be on their way. Not the case.
