Cavanaugh was available at about the same time Maine was looking for a coach. As I recall he was hired by UConn just as Maine's search was getting under way.

The upside at UConn is much better than at UMaine. Why would a coach make that switch? UConn is a much higher-profile school in general, so all things being equal should be able to easily outrecruit Maine over the long term. And I don't understand the love affair with Tyler Walsh. Besides being born to Shawn, what has he done? Why do people think he will be some kind of incredible savior merely because he is Shawn's progeny?? He's young and hasn't really done anything. So why pine for him instead of any of the dozens of other young coach wannabe's?

are you ****ting me, leaman? he makes far more money at PC, PC puts far more money in their program and he has them in NCAAs every year. He is only leaving for a bigger program and Maine isnt bigger.

Field hockey won in 2OT today. Nice work by the 15-4 Bears. The NCAA's are a win away. Maine is on the map in that regard, and good for them.

Terrible period of hockey. Sloppy handling the puck coming out of the zone in through nuetral zone. A step behind for all puck battles. Icing on the cake was Swayman letting one in from the blue line with no traffic in front. So far Maine not showing much.

Well, there you go.

Nobody is much better than anyone else right now, and if Maine can win the toss-up's, they should have a shot to be in contention late in the season.

Big turn around. Awesome stuff. Big goal by Pearson. Hopefully the defense holds tight this period. Nice to get a look at Spicer tonight. I am having a hard time with number because of fuzzy broadcast, but am trying to watch each time he is out there.

Exciting end to the game where Lowell had two extra attackers to end the game. Maine wins 4-3!
