UMAA vs UMD for all the marbles

Not true. :p However, D1 hockey is > D2 football. My excitement level if we win tonight will be about the same as when we won in football, even though I'm a bigger UMD football fan, but a bigger SCSU (Men's) hockey fan. (The teams are 1 and 1a in both)

GO UMD! much fichigan and their arrogance and their 7 titles won before over 1/2 the field was even playing hockey. what were their 4 teams playing when michigan was winning in the 50's?

Oh, and memo to Sandelin. Make the entire team wear jersey's w/the name Connolly on the back!

Yeah, and they still play in the same asinine system that uses a bowl game to crown a mythical championship, which in reality is nothing more than a blantent cash grab by the schools, the conferences, the BCS, National sponsers, and the bowl committee themselves. Hell, as long as you're not wanted for murder, you can still pretty much show up for the bowl game and play in it, as OSU and Pryor proved last bowl season. The BCS is a shame, and totally spits in the eye of the ideal of the student athlete.

Michigan won most of those early Championships because they were the only school at the time to offer hockey scholarships.

really? wow, ok that makes it even worse really. they had teams of ringers compared to the rest then.

I'm sorry, did Michigan stop other schools from fielding hockey programs?

I'm sorry you must have me confused with someone who gives a **** what you think about football. I'm not much a fan of the BCS system either, in fact you'll be hard-pressed to find a football fan who likes it, but your hatred and angst against anyone with a D1 program totally discredits your argument.

You know what a D2 championship means? You are the 121st best college football team in the country.

Winner of the title game will be announced in exactly 30 minutes. If the refs are Bennedetto and Bunyon it will be UMD. Anyone else and Michigan will win. You heard it here first.

Only the 121st best football program? Ha!! Hardly!! That's just everybody at the bowl subdivision level. You're totally missed accounting for the playoff subdivision football programs, or D1-AA if you prefer. You know, the level that appalachian state plays at. Appy was down this year, but they still would have cleaned up in the MAC, which is bowl subdivision. That, and I do believe that Western Kentucky joined the bowl subdivision to make them the 121st school in the bowl subdivision. You should have said 122nd! Ha! Go back to Walmart and get some real learning!

I have Michigan winning in a pool but would much rather see a different team win it for a change. But $180 would be nice.
