UAH plans to stay Division I

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

Doug, I'll be living up to my $2k pledge this week. James, I saw your email, but I don't see the checks at all.

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

Because every team dreams of getting a goalie who gave up 9 goals in 4.5 periods on 56 shots (.862 sv% and 6.00 gaa) against Mankato :p
This is also the same goalie that has stoned UNO a couple of times. None the less, I am surprised that he is still transfering.

Omaha is a combined 3-7-2 vs. former CHA teams since the conference disbanded. It doesn't look like it's too hard to "stone" UNO if you're BSU or UAH . Maybe some other schools should schedule UNO while the getting's good, no?

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

I think you should get Sally Struthers or that old guy who is in the middle of some African village to do a commercial for you. I can just see it now.

"Just 50 cents a day from you can help keep a hockey program on the ice. That is less than the cost of a cup of coffee. Won't you do your part and make a pledge today?" The whole time, they can have pictures of the Chargers scrolling across the screen.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.... :D

I cut a check on the 15th and mailed it the next morning with form to the blueline club (since I'm silly and donate through the BLC organization) which means you should have gotten some notification of it arriving unless you've handed off your duties as prez and I missed the memo. I'll check my bank statement in a day or two when it rolls in and see if the check has been cashed. I'll be annoyed if someone (postal service or UAH) lost letter.

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

I never, ever see the checks. I do see the totals from time to time.

I didn't figure you would see the physical checks, but they should be updating the list of BLC members which would tell you that our checks were recieved. Whomever is acting as treasurer should be dealing with the checks, and there should be secondary controls that the checks are deposited and recorded by someone other than the person handling the checks on the way in. Probably should have a "for deposit only" stamp too.

*cuts off line of thought*

Anyway, the check hasn't been cashed yet, so something's up though I expect it's more to do with the holiday than anything.

BTW we're going to try and make the exhibition games. Sorry we couldn't make this weekend's. Though it seems I'm doing better than most, at least I got to see a win this year and I've only attended two games. How's the schedule looking for next year? Do we have at least 20 games?

While its not a big deal to me it might be for others - never got the shirt when I joined in October. Sounds like the process needs some adjustment to keep things from falling thru the cracks - don't need to be turning off potential donors.

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

I don't know that the shirts have been ordered yet. They usually lag a bit so they can get a bigger order and get a discount.

As for the treasurer, that's Athletics. I am a figurehead at best.

Do my eyes deceive me? UAH 3 Denver 2? Hope it's not a typo. If not, way to go guys!!

Your eyes do not deceive... Coach just told me "they are a happy bunch" right now. That's a quality win if I ever saw one... and our first ever win against Denver. Way to go for the Boys in Blue!!!

Geof is correct that the shirts haven't been ordered yet. They wait until late to give everyone the opportunity to get one and combine orders for other sports to get the best volume pricing. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the practice as I'd like to have and wear my shirt in the year I bought it...

Re: UAH plans to stay Division I

See, this is why the LTHC hasn't invited UAH...they're afraid the Chargers will come in and dominate the league...
