UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

I watched both segments, and I must say that I really like what coach Thomas and Keith Hackett have to say about the "new day" UAA embraces. I am really hoping they both can pull off a new arena on campus really soon. OR, really spruce up the Sullivan with the new seats, scoreboard, glass, etc.

We really need to build on this momentum.

I watched both as well, and, I'm excited! I do believe this program is headed in the right direction now. All of those who voted for Matt Thomas to be the coach, I salute you. And, he's kept to his guns, 'Never had a losing season, and I don't plan to start now.'(Paraphasing at it's best.)

Although, I'm still a little ****ed we broke the FSU goalie and couldn't hang on, hats off to FSU for 'bringing it, when they needed it'.

It's a new day, and a FANTASTIC DAY TO BE A SEAWOLF!

I think the program is heading in the right direction as well. Mailing off our season ticket renewals today! :)

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Maybe the "choir" needs to forward it that "Juneau Rap Group” who can fix the problem, of course between viewing golf shots.

Aren't you in rare form? Maybe the choir and the entire congregation needs to email the rap group. ;)

OK, is ANYTHING going to be done this summer???

OK, is ANYTHING going to be done this summer???

I did talk to the guy in charge of the Sully renovations, and he told me the Sully would not get new glass, seats, etc. until 2015. I do believe, however, that the new scoreboard that the Aces purchased will be installed this summer. So there's that. I would love to see all of these upgrades in place for the start of the coming hockey season.

AlaskaHockey, I only Senator I received a reply from was Berta Gardner.

Please can we at least pressure wash those lawn chairs this summer? I requested this earlier, valid request IMO.

Looking back I had 3 replies’…….. Kevin Meyer x 2 , Lesil McGuire and, Berta Gardner.
Ok who else got replies? , my guess 4 more max……. prove me wrong

if you called, you need to email them ( a paper trail) and if you want anything done , (as with this task is labor intensive) you bring the problem and you also bring a solution to fix the problem. Suggest a few crews of community service people could do the detail.
And if no response from that person or you want to see crap to roll down the ladder asap …….

Call on live radio and ask Mayor Dan Sullivan about the problem with the solution and that you got no response out of the sully people when you contacted them and see how fast it gets done. And no I will not look up all the times or radio stations have mom do it.

Bottom line if it really, really bothers you and you are a season ticket holder(same seat every game) here is the solution………. first game come early ,sneak in some rubber gloves and a small container your favorite cleaner, a couple rags…(explain to security they are cheer towels and you spilled your beverage ) and clean your seat yourself. At least it will be up to your standards.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Last night the Aces, in the Kelly Cup Finals, were more than 1000 short of sellout.

That's a great sign if a team in a championship series can't sell out. Anchorage is a great hockey town.

Speaking of the Aces, Gundy signed an ATO contract with them today. Go Gundy! :)

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

I'm listening to them on the radio. They sold out tonight.

Kind of unusual game schedule. 3 games here, 3 in Cincinnati, then the last game back here if needed.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

I am not convinced Anchorage is a hockey town anymore. Dont be mad at me, I just see the evidence!

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Awwww, Wolf.. Nobody could ever be mad at you! :o

I read the article in ADN about the dip in attendance for the Aces from the past few years, and one of the owner's is wondering if it's fan fatigue from all of their success.. If he would've asked me, I'd tell him ---> it's ticket and parking prices more than anything. And knowing those owners, they'll try to jack the prices up again once that new center-ice scoreboard is installed.. Even though (per Alaska Dispatch) they are working out a deal to rent it to the city or something like that..

I rarely miss a Seawolves game, but I only listen to the Aces via radio. (Plus, you can watch the Aces on channel 1 when they're out of town during their playoff games) ;)

Anyway.. kudos to Gundy!

Kind of hard to believe but Doyle has a piece in this mornings paper on the Gundy thing where he also mentions Coach and the Seawolves without a negative anywhere in it. And to top that not even a negative undertone. Way to go Doyle!

Hope Rob gets a shot at it!
I'm sure he'll do himself and the Seawolves proud.
All the good on Gundy.
