Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

That true!

Oh yeah, well, how about you guys actually beat us in regulation time! Hah!! Can't get me there (sarcasm, I'm grasping on whatever I can find, it's do or die tomorrow against our god-for-saken rivals, who the hell cursed our team?)!!!

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Not really a curse...just playoff hockey where anything can happen. UAA never trailed on the night UNTIL the final shot of the game.
Congrats to both teams with a combined 34 players named to the all WCHA academic team....

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Wonder why the UAA coach didn't get WCHA coach of the year? What a turn around with personnel he inherited. He really has made adjustments in his team play after last week's 7-2 debacle w/ Alaska and has really controlled the high octane offense Alaska showed in the six or seven previous games. He did much better w/ Alaska than Ferris state.

I understand the Ferris State coach had an excellent season, but I think UAA so greatly exceeded expectations, it's on the coach getting the systems in place so quickly and motivating the players.

Re: UAA: Exciting Things Ahead!

Should be Gundy. He actually played great and have us a chance to win

Hubbs dumb penalty should earn him a spot in the stands tomorrow.

Was it any dumber than Baily's two? Slashing adn cross checking - stupid, undisciplined penalties on their face. Equal in to roughing, imho. Of course Baily's a great player so gets slack cut. But that could have been catastrophe twice. I didn't see any of the penalties, but a penalty isn't dumber than another just because it happens to result in a score.

It was because in the end it costed us the game in the third, baileys were dumb too, but his were not late in the game.

I disagree - that didn't cost us the game. UAA's inability to score on any of their power plays cost us the game. The Seawolves went 0 for 3 on their power play and are 0 for 9 in the last three games against the Nanooks. That is the problem.

I will agree that the PP was awful, but late in the game, coaches preach that you don't take dumb penalties, and hubbs penalty could've been avoided.

Making the nook pk numbers look good
Too many passes looking for the pretty or perfect shot
Get guys to the net and shoot the puck and good things will happen
3 passes 4 at the most then let it fly

Same thing I posted in the other thread, no PP goals, and no goal from a 3 on 1 rush and no goal from a 3 on 2 rush. We should have scored at least 4 times last night. We also STILL display problems clearing the zone on the PK. That has to be automatic when you get the puck, for some reason we just cannot get it out consistently.

Good God **** Yes!!

Even though they UA_ didn't score, UAA used more wind, and didn't get a offensive chance for 2 minutes.

Pretty decent game though....

And Gundy gets the nod tonight, or should anyway, has played great hockey down the stretch...

Hate to change the subject but Nathan Lawson got called up to Ottawa.

Nate the Great was a stellar goal tender when he played here.
That said:
He was also a very divisive influence on the team.
Because he was an above average player he had a lot of influence on underclassmen who followed him and for them he was a negative influence.
Overall our program would have been better off without him.
