UAA @ CC - Sat 12/09/2011

Re: UAA @ CC - Sat 12/09/2011

Another major?!
Well that's the game I suppose. Really sucks the game had to come down to so many ugly CC penalties.

Penalty slew footing? What is that, you hardly ever hear that penalty. Anyone?

Re: UAA @ CC - Sat 12/09/2011

And game misconduct? I have no idea what happened, didn't even see the penalty.

Slew Footing: Potential For Serious Injury

Rule 85 (b):

"A Minor penalty or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed any player who uses his feet to knock an opponents skates out from under him with a kicking or leg dragging motion from behind ("slew footing")." (Canadian Hockey Referee’s Case Book/Rule Combination, 2001, pg. 221)

This has really put a damper on my night. Disappointed by our lack of class and clean play and just general inability to play a good hockey game. Let's hope tomorrow is better.

And UAA wins 6-3! Woo hoo, way to go Wolves!!! That was a big win, a much needed 2 points. Now I hope that Docken is okay.

UAA 6 CC 3 - Final

UAA 6 CC 3 - Final

Wow - that was an ugly effort by the Tigers, who suffered their first loss of the season at home. CC gave up yet another SHG, and then really lost their cool after the Seawolves took their first lead. Congrats to UAA for playing a sound road game and taking advantage of the opportunities they had. Tigers will be without Jaden tomorrow night, and had better find a way to put together a better team effort. Let's go Tigers!

Did he get a game DQ?

Re: UAA @ CC - Sat 12/09/2011

Suze - I did see the first major penalty really well, it looked like it could have been an okay hit if Taft (freshman, #17) hadn't gone high to the head. As it was, your UAA player skated off the ice unassisted after a minute or so of being looked over by the trainer on the ice. If I had to guess, I'd say he didn't play because of a potential concussion or maybe neck pain. Sending good thoughts his way, hope he's back to form tomorrow and good to play!
