UA_ vs. UAA the five hole edition, 16-17

Hang? That's what we're hoping for? To "hang" with UAF? Talk about losers mentality.

You know what doomed them? Terrible defense. Way too many times getting beat to pucks, getting blown by, and the biggest thing: clearing the *ing puck! UAA should've won 3-2 at worst but terrible defense killed them.

Woods clocked Mitchell at the buzzer. There was no need for that. He was probably trying to goad Mitchell into a tussle, hoping to get him tossed for tonights game. Gotta love this rivalry.

Were UA_'s uniforms new? Talk about ugly. They looked like bumblebees out there. Kind of reminded me of Michigans, which I have always found very unappealing.

Throwback jerseys to 50 years ago, I believe. Wore them in Fairbanks too during the UAA games.

Since 13-14 they have unfortunately been the better team, also it's a rivalry game anything can happen. Last I checked we lost 4-3, and only started playing good after giving up the second goal. At least my hopes for our team are realistic. What did you think UAA was gonna steamroll UA_ 10-0 on this weekend and sail into Bemidji and more than likely get swept? While most of us UAA fans wished that would've happened, it is not realistic. This weekend was gonna be close, dirty, and mistakes that will turn into scoring chances. These kind of games makes everybody's game better, we lost by one goal to the lesser goalie of UA_. But we do have the ace up our sleeve, a pro coach who is heading into game #5 for the cup.

Reminded me of prison uniforms for some reason, wonder if that's where the got the inspiration. Best bet, they got a sweet deal from the people that did the prison uniforms.

It's great that we have a pro coach but we have a lineup that plays like a D3 team.

The expectation against UAF is to win, no exceptions. The problem is too many of you have accepted losing.

A pro coach who hasn't done anything for 3 years? A pro coach who makes double what other coaches in our league make? I don't blame the players, I blame the coach. He's a disaster. The power play has been last in the nation for THREE YEARS. Our penalty minutes are right up there among the highest in the nation. This is what is not acceptable. Again, I don't blame the players. They played hard last night. They wanted to win. Hopefully they can get the win and the shoot out tonight. If not, time for Thomas to go.

Not exactly crazy about it being sealed by an empty-net goal in a tie game, but congrats, Nooks, on winning the Cup again

What a stupid coaching call, just because it was gutsy doesn't make it smart.

I am an MTU fan first, but I root for the Seawolves as an Alaskan and would love to see them thrive. They need recruiting help, IMO. They play hard, but they just do not have the skill players that they need to be successful. If UA(f) can bring skilled guys in, UAA should be able to. Hope the Seawolves can stick around and get more draw with the Aces folding.

UAA had to win in the regular OT to keep Governor's Cup chances alive. With nothing else to play for, they might as well.
