UA_ vs. UAA the five hole edition, 16-17

We have played better at home compared to the road, UA_ hasn't.

UAF has a better road record than UAA has at home.

With the Aces gone, ECHL might come a knocking, like to see how you "hockey" town will support ECHL and NCAA hockey, on top of juniors. Oh wait you're junior and NCAA hockey compares to our NCAA and ECHL hockey, funny how our attendance suffers.

Our attendance will continue to climb without the Aces.

Seawolf logic: "Hooray, our competition has gone out of business! Even though that means upwards of 80 full and part time jobs are now lost in a city that is already in the middle of a major economic recession that has seen hundreds of other high paying jobs be eliminated or leave the state, we're still going to have a few dozen more people come to our games."

News flash...the Aces going under only hurts hockey in Anchorage, and has a negative trickle-down effect on the economy. Until UAA does something to not make its home hockey games "the epitome of boring" (as one ADN commenter aptly put it), you aren't going to be packing the Sully anytime soon.

Last but not least...your*

When I made the English comment I was trying to refer to me not signing into my other account, I only do that for reddit-which I have no idea why I do that. Not the English mistakes I make, and others make. I have moved on from that.

The job losses do suck, but most will find other jobs pretty quickly. Majority of those jobs are menial, and people straight out of high school qualify for them.

Recession, you mean losing government $$, 2016 our cities revenue was $12 million. Middle of recession, no. Start of recession, maybe.

You know what else is a fun stat? The Gov cup series!

Alaska: 15
UAA: 8

You're not very good at math. The cheating years don't count. Nowhere on the books are those recorded as "wins" for the Nanooks. Nice try though, :)

The games may not count but we still got the cup.

Granted I'm not super confident going in to this weekend but hoping for a good weekend.

Yeah if the bank robbers spend the stolen loot before they're caught I guess they "still got the loot".
Got to agree with you there.
However some folks still have a sense of morality.
Others?.....not so much.

Yes because the players, coaches and fans were aware of what was going on...NO, it was administrative errors and lack of training. UAF self-reported it when it was discovered. I think that shows a higher sense of morality than you assume.

Basically you are saying everybody knew theft was going on.

1 retired with honors, 2 got promotions, 3 more hired, and 4 gotten because nobody cared.

Re: UA_ vs. UAA the five hole edition, 16-17

I have a flight down tomorrow morning. I don't really want to spend more time in that city than I feel like I have to. But I have a friend that I haven't seen in a while.

But as I gather some things to pack, it hits me...

The last time that UAA won this trophy, this years college freshman were entering the 7th grade...

Ha. But then again, if the Nanooks didn't cheat and play with players who were INELIGIBLE - for THREE years ... would UAA maybe have won the Cup during those years? We will never know. :) It wasn't a case of one or two guys being on the ice who shouldn't have been, there were SIX ineligible players playing.

Well, perhaps. In the meantime we are 12-7-1 (10-4-1 not counting the playoffs) in the remaining 4.5 years against UAA. Even if UAA sweeps this weekend I'd say we are still doing just fine against our rival.

What to pack for an overnighter in town, the village checklist.....

Quest card

Premade cardboard sign

Print map to homeless camp buddy squatting in

Declare my pot and pipes so no hassle

Bring up to max for buddy

A tin of muck to share

Cleanest pants and shirt as they get uppity when they can advise you what you ate for the last week off your outfit

Mickey Mouse boots as might get slushier than prison tennis shoes can take

Orange vest cuz they don’t bring it to a halt or drive around you

Towel and soap to shower at Ben Boeke before game

Wood smoke deodorant

Sleeping bag

Head lamp

Fake I D with no red stripe

Dump treasures for homeless camp show and tell time

Dear 'Nooks fans, I have prime trolling material up on my site if you're into that sort of thing...

Friendly reminder to all those Nanook fans coming on down, your sports teams are the Alaska Nanooks.

Not UAF, not Fairbanks, but we will also accept the AAC&SoM if you are so inclined.

Again, for years you have been getting this wrong, UA not UA_.

Can't even properly root for your own team, only in _________.
