Just when it looked like TIMMAY was saving his job for another week, Maine snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

And they do it with such zeel! (I guess. Didn't watch or listen to this game.)

Love to see a list of the games this team has blown first minute/last minute. Theyre awful situationally. Unprepared.

If it wasnt over before its over now. Gross.

Maine hockey...

I'm not surprised at all.

Lowell did what Black Bear Football did earlier today, step up, come back, and get a hard-earned W.

Wow.........are there still any Whitehead apologists out there??? Priceless?

Something needs to change......when will the big donors, Abbott, etc. realize this????

At least they didn't give up any shorties tonight. Did they?:p

I feel better now. We can all relax knowing we are the worst team in Hockey East this year. No where to go but possibly up, unless Tim manages to screw that up.

If you can't beat UML at Orono, who CAN you beat? 10 wins this season is starting to look like a stretch; how the mighty have fallen....

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

Scott Pellerin has been as assistant with the Monarchs (AHL) for awhile, we all know about Montgomery... If they buy him out it would be an interesting candidate search. Who isn't sick of this sh*t?
It must be really bad if you've joined the bandwagon. Watching that comeback was awful. I don't know what to say. My guess is Timmay has lost the team now, so its going to get worse before March comes.

And he still has 2.5 years left on his contract.........:(

Thanks Blake James!

Think about next years team without Spence and Flynn, tell me where the offense is coming from.

Nemec got used, O'neill got used, Sully got used. Its frustrating

One other thing, never seen Tim talk to the officials as much as he did tonight, apparently even he knows he is losing the team so he was pulling out all the stops. Heck he even yelled at Shea and waved his hands around

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

I think we won 10% of the faceoffs this weekend.

Agree with you on the breakouts by the "4's" last couple of years...LOL! We definitely miss Dimmen and Van Dyk in that dept. We actually have some very good breakout men this year in 27 and 57. And 44 seems to have gotten a lot better on the breakouts this year...quicker and no real turnovers that stand out to me.

I'm waiting to see how they do against UML this weekend before deciding to go to UMASS. They need a sweep to prove to me they won't be in the cellar this year.

Well, I'll save money by not going to UMass. And to think I wanted a sweep BY the Black Bears; not OF. What a joke.

This is absolutely the worst coached, least disciplined, softest team in Hockey East. No one even a close second. Steve Abbott: please put us out of our misery.....but FIRE TIMMAY FIRST!!!!!!!

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

Jacob Rutt did some very nice things on the ice tonight in his first college Hockey East game, until he retaliated when Maine was going on the PP. It resulted in a 4 on 4 and a River Hawk goal. Another huge mistake was Mangene (who broke his stick), drags down a UML player resulting in another PP goal.:( He has no stick, but did he expect to get away with that?:( Having said that, Maine needs more scoring. I can't comment on the goal tending in the 3rd period, as he was on the opposite end of the ice from me. Sullivan was good in the 2nd period.

Glad I didn't renew my season tix this year!! No money from me until changes are made.

It's still strange thinking how it's any easy, no pressure weekend nowadays when you have a series with Maine, sort of like playing the Mack back in the day when they first joined HE, almost a guaranteed 4 points. There's no longer any question about Maine being awful now, the real question is, will they pull a Lake State and be lousy for another 15 years?

I think that the lake state fans were able to turn their attention to the Greyhounds... a good junior team...

Gosh, didn't merrimack's new success all start when their players all wrote a letter to Serino asking him to LEAVE?
