Coaching changes really rejuvenate old, stale and wilting programs. Take PC for example. UNH is another program which would benefit from a thorough cleansing.

Looks like he's heading back home to Toronto.

0 points in 15 games over this season and last? Who saw that coming?

I didn't think he would come back after this season but surprised he left at this point in the year. He came in too early. I know some people are against players spending a bunch of years in juniors but he should have waited another year if not two.

Pretty disappointing tonight. How many fluky goals can you give up and how many dumb penalties can you take? Why was Leen not playing? I thought O' Connor looked good along with the freshmen. The top line is on the ice way too much, especially on the PP.

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

They're not flukey goals, they're the result of complete fundamental breakdowns, or just boneheaded plays with the puck. Funny how Maine never seems to score those flukey goals.

And how can Lowell, Lowell!!!, Lowell!!!! ferchrissaakes!!!!!!!, get a Canadian player like Wilson, and Maine can't?

TIMMAY needs to go now, hand this mess over to Corkum, and see what he can salvage of it. I'm sick of seeing TIMMAY's hangdog mug on my tv screen after yet another dismal performance. Yeah TIMMAY, you need to play better defense, and stop the puck. But just how do you propose to go about making that happen? That's your frickin' job, after all!!! You can start by hiring a new goaltending coach.

Sean Walsh must be rolling in his grave! The place started to clear with 8 minutes left and was nearly empty with 5 minutes left.
So now there is no offense and defense that can't defend. Can't be all on Marty...defense was walked around at least a dozen times (conservatively), gave up puck numerous times, caught flat footed and don't play the body.
Can't imagine folks will continue to come out in the cold for that show.
There is lots of talent on this team, they need the right motivator and coach.
Right now they have the wrong captain at the helm.

Timmay them ready tonight, sharp as a tack they were. Beattie must want to sit after taking 2 penalties to give back a man advantage. I'll bet O'Connor and Cerratani don't play tomorrow but Beattie does, go figure. Marty is athletic but he is a wreck mentally. Lowell looked alot better that last year, good for them. Maine looks like crap, just like last year

My God, how in the world can you say "there is lots of talent on this team"?

I agree, there isn't **** for talent on this team. One line, no D and inconsistent goal tending that when good isn't great

TIMMAY is just collecting a check. Zombie stands there chewing his gum with no emotion at all. He can start by resigning tonight before we force him out.

I say it because it's true! You put a different coach behind the bench-one the players respect (because he deserves it!), get the guys in shape and you'll see the talent.

goblackbears.com
athletics-staff directory
Steve Abbott (207)581-1052 email: ??
Will Biberstein, Associate AD Internal Affairs: william.biberstein@umit.maine.edu
Laura Reed, Assistant AD Public Relations: laura.reed@maine.edu

why no email for Mr. Abbott? heh heh

I have no idea who these other people are, but their titles seemed to suggest, umm, an ability to remove a parasite from with-in the department. Or maybe to understand the importance of removing said parasite. At least more than others listed on the staff directory.

Is the Mangene D experiment over ?? One line looked burnt in more than 1 way........UMaine forwards are too small.......??

Let's hope so. He is a forward, has been on for 9 of 13 goals against in last 3 games....teams have figured it ot,O'Neil is playing lousy, due IMHO, to the pairings. Cornell a healthy scratch again...why...diamond only bright spot, rest of forwards standing still...Anderson and shenansky...won't waste my breath....and Timmy still no clue....

Maine fans need to stop going to games.......that is the only way to send a REAL message. Tough love!........the sooner, the better.

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

I'm going to stay home for most of the games I had planned to attend, anyway. The people I feel the most sorrow for (outside of the players) are those of you who shelled-out fairly serious bucks for season tickets.

Maine is now officially what UML has been for years: a genuine also-ran. In a sense, Timmy has his old team back.

I have no doubt that he'd be coaching a JuCo team yesterday if it didn't cost so much to buy him out of a $190K, no-show job. (Nice work if you can get it, right?)

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

On the Amstoy talk...when you see a player or players leaving a Program just 8-9 games into a season...well that spells trouble in my book...TEAM trouble..? Coaching trouble..? Not hard to figure that one out....sad play tonight, you have to wonder when the season ends will: TW END..?

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

A very marginal player leaving to find ice-time elsewhere is perfectly OK with me. It happens all the time.

Tim's greatest failing is in his inability to recruit and/or develop goalies. When you don't have at least average goaltending, you have no chance to succeed, and last year's relatively-talented team is proof of that. (And it's gonna be even uglier this year, for sure.)

Re: U Maine 2011-2012 Season (thread created when Maine was at .500) Thread

Might as well put Rutt and Norman in the lineup to see if they can do any better. mangene needs to go back up front; he's playing forward on the PP, and he spends most of his time as a blueliner deep in the offensive zone, so what's the sense in having him play as a defenseman? I'd almost sit O'neill if he wasn't the captain, he's been useless in his own end. But put those two in the lineup, sit Hegarty and Pryor, and have O'neill/Nemec, Cornell/Rutt and O'Connor/Norman and see what happens? Might as wellgive Seeley a start too, just for the hell of it. Where, oh where is Shawn Sirman?

I don't think this team is overly talented, but a different coach would get a whole lot more out of them. TIMMAY needs to go, let Corkum have them, skate their azzes into the ground, instill a little fire, discipline and toughness into them, and see if this trainwreck can at least be salvaged. This team plays like their coach, soft.

But BobF should be happy, Maine outshot their opponent once again.

Lowell, three freshmen and two sophomores on defense. And they played better than Maine's.
