I'm not saying it's not an entertaining show if all you want is to tune in and see James Spader be glib and kill the world's most bored criminals for 60 minutes every week. Just that there's very little effort put into the show beyond, "Hey, we've got James Spader! And this villain used to be scary on another show. Close enough!" Silliness is fine when a show acknowledges and embraces it(see: American Horror Story), but here, most of it just comes across as laziness on the part of the writers.

Wow. That's some cold water you got there.

If this show is silly then what exactly is the term we use for Hostages?

I think it is far more likely that Red and her father were associates and Red made some promise to him?

That is my second thought...afte her dad being an Associate he wants to kill :D

As for who is watching the house it is probably the husbands employer who is also probably Red's adversary.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Perhaps her father is Red's adversary? So working with her, Red has another card to play against him.

So many intriguing possibilities...no wonder Maize finds it annoying people actually enjoy it :D

Caught up on The Walking Dead last night. So far these storylines have me pretty bored, which is opposite of after the first episode of the season. After the first episode, I thought there was some great potential, but I just didn't see it the second episode. The whole quarantine stuff was stupid, if there is a mega-flu bug floating around it is everywhere. Yeah, I know it is a show about zombies, I shouldn't complain about little stuff like that, but it just seemed like something that was there to move the story in a different, pre-conceived direction (which it was). The whole Rick doesn't want to kill zombies anymore storyline was idiotic too, glad to see that he's over his vagina-itis. I still have hope that the season will be pretty good, but this one just didn't do it for me.

Sons Of Anarchy:

Again....ALL THE ANGLES! ALL OF THEM.

Not sure I get what you are trying to say...I'm not digging the forced drama...last episode reminded me of the CPD car crash scene in Blues Brothers...let's drive one more into the pile. What else could they have added? A whipped cream battle with a rival ice cream store?

How everyone is playing their game...

It's one giant chess match. You think Person A is doing steps x and y to get result z, a simple plan. But so many other steps are shoved in there. It's like the end of S3 with Agent Stahl and the Jax Is A Rat storyline. Very complex, and I love it.

Example: SOA letting Clay take the guns. Simple result: SOA is out of guns, which is what they wanted. Complex result: Clay is now the "source" of the guns, which is what the DA wants to bust. SOA just killed two birds with one stone.

SOA

All the morals. And none the morals. Jesus.

Netflix has a decent stock of Columbo episodes (though not all of them). Watched one last night with Susan Clark as the killer and Leslie Nielsen as her trusting lover, until he starts noticing changes in her behavior. Nielsen in a dramatic role is a novelty for me, but I thought he was pretty solid. The way the Hollywood historians tell it, his dramatic career was considered a joke after his comedic career took off with Airplane.

Okay, here's a possible plot hole in the Walking Dead...

If I leave gas in my snow blower over the summer, it won't work the next winter unless I added stabilizer. Is this true of all gasoline?

If so, shouldn't the gasoline supply be dead?

Any gas experts around?

On Bkacklist, are we supposed to know who Tom identified in the photo as Burris and I missed it?

Yes, gasoline goes bad. It should be bad by now. Maybe they found a truckload of Seafoam to keep they're skunky gas usable.

Still not as big of a plothole as most of these "walkers" would have decomposed to the point of not being able to move by now. But, the show would be over then. So I'm glad they overlooked it.

Was anyone else screaming "WATCH THE EFFING ROAD, DARYL!" while he was fidgeting with the radio?

Absolutely. In addition, you really couldn't afford to drive at that speed as you could come up on a traffic snarl around any corner.

The book The Stand took pains to talk about this which is why the survivors pretty much got around on bicycles - coz they didn't want to risk getting in a wreck.

Not that you'd want to ride bikes around during the zombie apocalypse, but they could at least slow the **** down.

And to your previous point, they picked the vehicle with the worst mileage. Derp.

There are trucks that get better mileage and have four wheel drive, not to mention cars. Derp Derp.

Wasnt that the guy who was with Red in his apartment when Lizzy goes to see him. (and he is talking about selling the painting) I know he is the one who gives Red the phone when Lizzy calls him. The idea being Red set all of this up. (Gina points finger at him for the murder, he frames Tom by sending in his assistant to pretend to interview him)

Someone is framing Red good. It makes zero sense that he would go to all of this trouble then turn himself in a year later just to work with Lizzy...

I leave my convertible in storage all winter without stabilizer, and it runs just fine the next spring.

It probably helps to add a fuel stabilizer, but I don't know if it's a necessity, or just another thing trying to be sold to us.

Edit: And oh yeah. If you're gonna be setting yourself up with a motor pool after a zombie apocalypse, please use 4 wheel, or all wheel drive vehicles. it could save your life.
