SOA:

So disappointed in tonight's episode. The secondary developments should have been more major, and vice versa. The IRA angle? It was the obvious: the club sees all angles except the most obvious one, which will undoubtedly happen. Terrible. Things like this separate good writing from great. The ending was a total letdown.

It's gotten to the point where I now read reviews of SOA before I watch episodes.

I'm pretty close to just reading the reviews (if only so I know what happens, since I've invested my time into the first 5 seasons).

So, what's the scoop on American Horror Story? Is it a different story each season? I see a different tagline every year. Worth checking out?

Yes, each season is a different story, with different characters. Each acts as its own miniseries. I watched the first series, it was ok, I didn't get real into it though. Some people really seem to like it.

They do that for a) because it's a different way to present a "brand" or series, and b) Emmy categories.

And the storylines of SOA are great, it's just sometimes those over-the-top cliches kick in, like last night's ending, which take away from it. The subplot with Wendy/Gemma/Tara is phenomenal, IMO. Gemma the queen and her two proteges? That's just awesome right there. Who's gonna screw who over? It's a three-headed monster.

The League TOTALLY redeemed itself from the Rafi fiasco. Holy crap.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

South Park still has it. World War Zimmerman was awesome.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

So Arrow: Summer Glau is the Black Widow?

Ink Master:

They got it right. The ending was obvious when the judges said that Jime was Jime throughout the series. Showed versatility, but whenever he could do what he's known for, he did it. Joey showed true versatility. And as previously mentioned, I don't think Tatu Baby deserved to be in the top 3 this season. Last season? God yes. This year notsomuch.

And Josh is still an arse.

Yeah, that announcement could be predicted as soon as they showed all three final tattoos. And I have to say that the final episode's format really sucks. While I like the idea of it being live, there's just too much that's drawn out by making it a two-hour show. And I'm not surprised that Kyle is coming back for next year. Unlike Tatu Baby, I think he'll make the most of the second chance.

So Arrow: Summer Glau is the Black Widow?

Wrong universe...Black Widow is a Marvel character ;) Summer Glau is playing Isabel Rochev.

Isabel Rochev

Black Canary (which is who I am guessing you meant) is supposed to be Dinah (Laurel) Lance but there is no way Laurel on the show is her.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

I knew that sounded wrong as soon as I typed it. But I drew a blank on the correct name.

I don't mind the two hour bit. I was getting annoyed by the artists criticizing the judges. Even when explaining the criteria, and their actual jobs (to TRY and find anything wrong with a tatt), they still were ripped. And that "leatherface" bit...the daughter failed to understand the guy was saying the tatt didn't do her mother justice (I agree with the criticism of the tatt, for the record).

I did love Nunez firing back at times. Man, he can be an arsehole when properly provoked (and he was justified in all his responses; I was just a tad, just a tad, surprised he was as pointed as he was).

Finally caught this week's SOA. Fairly disappointing, for a lot of reasons that would be tedious to get into. Let's just say that this IRA nonsense has been going on for about two or three seasons too long.

Agreed. I like the local stuff. The more realistic stuff. Glad to see the sheriff involved again.
