Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Finally saw this week's Ink Master. I...disagree with the judge's decision to keep Tatu Baby. On the whole season, I think Kyle was better. He wasn't as dynamic, but he wasn't terrible, either. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Tatu, but I dunno if she deserved to be top 3.

That being said....I think Joey is top dog right now. And I like his strategy going into the finale.

Tatu should not be there at all. Kyle's free-style tattoo was too busy, yes, but if you actually look at the work he put into it, it was really good on all the elements. The lines were crisp, the shading was great, he just put too many things in it to see what's going on from a distance, and he nailed the American Traditional assigned piece he was given whereas Tatu Baby jacked up that drawing she was assigned.

Joey's taking the plan that Sarah used last year. She's the only one of the three from last year who didn't do a back piece. The judges didn't like her design, it was a continual theme last year in the choices she made, and Joey's not likely to have that problem as unlike Sarah, Joey's never had to defend his design choices. So with all that said, I agree that he's going to trick out his piece(s) and not lose out the attention to detail due to making something too large.

I never liked Sarah, nor many of her tatts. Joey's detail is insane. If Jime could do all his tatts like tonight's West Coast Gray? JFC.

Also agree on Kyle. If he simplified tonight's freestyle...man, what a great tatt. It was just too busy. The initial idea is rather awesome.

I havent heard much talk of the new broadcast shows? Anyone liking anything? I'm loving the Blacklist so far and have been watching some of the new comedies...nothing really special but still watching.

The Blacklist is pretty well done. Spader is as good as it gets, although as others have said, if it just turns into a "Catch the bad guy terrorist of the week" formulaic show, I'll likely stop watching.

Hostages sucks. Entertaining for 20 minutes until it fell into the most cliche-driven show I've seen in some time. Fell asleep during the second episode. Done.

Sleepy Hollow is pretty fun. Don't take it too seriously (duh) and you'll probably find it enjoyable, and suspenseful enough to keep you watching. On my keeper list.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine...still haven't decided. Hilarious at times, predictable and boring in others. I'm hoping it ends up like The Mindy Project and the network gives it enough time to get some legs and find its stride. For anyone who gave up on The Mindy Project early on, I'd highly recommend giving it another shot. One of the better, smarter comedies out there.

The Mentalist: Someone else already posted about the season premier, and I must agree. That was one of the worst episodes of any TV show I've ever seen. To have Lisbon go to that house alone (the entire Sacramento Police department was 'busy' so she had to go alone...Really???) and then enter it alone...just awful television. At this point I just want to find out who Red John is, and if they pull another stinker episode like that one, I'm giving up. Not to mention, their who-dun-it of the week is becoming more and more predictable.

Yeah, those were pretty good. The only thing that I can see getting old during this season is how long it takes Marshall to get from St. Cloud to Farhampton, NY, which I assume the fictional town is somewhere near the Hamptons, given the beach setting.

Yeah that will get old...though his yelling out the window about a viking being amongst them was hilarious! Whoever writes that stuff gets the hatred :)

Just watched the first episode of The Blacklist...wow! I will admit though I kinda wish the show was on cable so we could really see James Spader get nasty :D

Seen it ;)

The Blacklist proved last night that they have more than just terrorists in mind. Great storytelling and Spader has been phenomenal.

Glad I gave up on Hostages right away.

I love the little nuggets on her husband, it should be a great show.

There is a list...it is black ;)

I thought it was supposed to be symbolic. Like, the blacklist is the place in our hearts that we all find when we learn to love our fellow man.

Yes. I don't think the list is actually black. How would you be able to read the names on it? It is symbolic, like how they call airplane flight recorders "black boxes" even though they're usually orange. :D
