Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched
Tatu should not be there at all. Kyle's free-style tattoo was too busy, yes, but if you actually look at the work he put into it, it was really good on all the elements. The lines were crisp, the shading was great, he just put too many things in it to see what's going on from a distance, and he nailed the American Traditional assigned piece he was given whereas Tatu Baby jacked up that drawing she was assigned.
Joey's taking the plan that Sarah used last year. She's the only one of the three from last year who didn't do a back piece. The judges didn't like her design, it was a continual theme last year in the choices she made, and Joey's not likely to have that problem as unlike Sarah, Joey's never had to defend his design choices. So with all that said, I agree that he's going to trick out his piece(s) and not lose out the attention to detail due to making something too large.
Finally saw this week's Ink Master. I...disagree with the judge's decision to keep Tatu Baby. On the whole season, I think Kyle was better. He wasn't as dynamic, but he wasn't terrible, either. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Tatu, but I dunno if she deserved to be top 3.
That being said....I think Joey is top dog right now. And I like his strategy going into the finale.
