Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan. The hemorrhaging of writers (and Dan Harmon) is really starting to show. It seems like the show is just recycling material. To be fair, a lot of the last two seasons was some sort of recycled material or homage, but this year it seems like everyone involved is a little bored.

On a related note: the bigoted jokes were so lazy and stupid, the only things preventing absolute outrage over last night's episode are (a) the fact that most of the jokes were targeting Germans, instead of any other ethnic group on the planet... you couldn't even stereotype the Irish like that without outrage and (b) the fact that the show is hemorrhaging viewers faster than it's losing quality writers, so there aren't enough people watching to care.

Ah well. :D

I enjoy Allison Brie immensely.

I have enjoyed Community so far.

I really like the premise, and the general storyline so far in Zero Hour, but the writing is just plain terrible.

Well, you won't have to experience either anymore.

I guess it's time I stop watching ABC dramas up against Big Bang.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

WOW, thought I would NEVER say this.... SNL is actually kind of funny tonight

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

CRAP!! I totally forgot to record Justified this week. It's not on OnDemand yet either. I hate when that happens.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

See, I thought I was complete crap last night. The worst of the season by far, in my opinion.

I agree. I think SNL for the most part has been as funny as ever, but people expect greatness in every skit even though that's NEVER happened in the history of the show. Not in 70's with the original cast, not with Murphy and Piscopo, not with Meyers and Carvey, not with Ferrell and...

I think they run a repeat either the night before, or just before the new episode airs. Check your listings.

Oo oo I have!

And I bet you've already found the new ep and watched it and dissected all the plot points. :)

Noooo, I haven't. But I checked a few places before I remembered that I had OnDemand. And then saw the only new episode was the one from the 19th.

Watching The Americans from this past week. It was a little confusing. I almost forgot who I was supposed to be rooting for. That said, I am really enjoying this show.

And for the record, I have met rufus before. :)

Might want to re-read that first sentence. :p

But yeah, I cannot think of a single decent skit from last night; well, other than the coffee one which was a rerun. Next week's with Justin Timberlake should be a highlight of the season (me from 10 years ago would definitely not approve of that sentence).

I thought the skit about the voting for the new Pope was kinda funny.

I loved the premise of the sketch, but the execution was severely lacking.

By the way, can they have an opening sketch that is not political? I mean, show some creativity in your show structure.

On come on how can you not think that

"Oh hey look at that, a horsey ride in the Vatican, that has to be a first..... But, probably isn't."

Is not funny? :D

Thought WD was pretty good; Rick would have heard gunfire in restaurant and come running. I assume they will go back and either get Morgan or find him dead. Not exactly sure how they ended up so near home but a policeman didn't know there was a prison nearby etc. if they were that close to home all this time, why did he just think of going and getting guns?
