I would have thought Big Bang would at least be on the list.

And Curb being on there is interesting...the best part of that show was that so much was unscripted
Up until the point they added Amy Farah Fowler to the character list as a regular, I'd agree. The show did not need two Sheldon characters, and then have Girl Sheldon go schizo and become something else entirely was a bad move.

I dont care what you say, when sheldon was rolling the 20 sided die to decide what their D and D characters would do to enhance their physical relationship that was funny stuff :D

This. I didn't think there were any BBT fans on this board besides me.

I don't post much, but I love BBT. I think Sheldon is easily the most unique, compelling, annoying, bizarre character ever invented for TV. We came to it via the DVDs and have watched it at least 3 times. Virtually everything else we watch is kinda gritty and dark, like The Wire, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire, so it's nice to have a little comic relief.

Having worked in a comic book store and being friends with many geeks I can say that show is pitch perfect. I have met many people with sheldon like tendencies :) Jim Parsons plays the "Genius burdened by the little brains" perfectly!

If you know any MTUers, you understand the show. ;)

Big Bang Theory isn't a particularly well-written show. It's been successful because they've got a veteran cast that really understands how multi-cam TV comedies work, and they get the most out of what they have to work with.

I haven't watched more than a couple random episodes, but I think they just found a niche market and it caught on. How many of us said to ourselves, "holy crap, I know someone JUST LIKE THAT." And it happens to be a geek culture, so you know they will be faithful to something they like.

Hannibal - most compelling and obscure show since Twin Peaks?

It is pretty amazing, cause for the most part, nothing really happens in any episode. There's just a lot of talking, and examining of feelings and such, but any actual action is pretty sparing. It's almost like it should be a cable show, but it's on network tv.

Futurama should have been on that list.

Edit: nm. Simpsons was on the list. Just didn't think it would be that high (although some of the earlier seasons were spectacular).

NBC 27
CBS 21
ABC 15
HBO 11
Fox 5
BBC 4
PBS 4
Comedy Central 3
FX 3
AMC 2
Showtime 2
SYN 2
SYFY 1
WB 1

Interesting breakdown... Especially considering how bad NBC is getting slaughtered in the ratings...

You know, I had no idea that Star Trek TNG was a first run syndication...very interesting to read how that happen.

Honestly? Did not expect to see RobbWind, even if it was only brief.
Man, that was painful to see. (I say that even though I read the books and knew it might be coming.)

Very much looking forward to next season's wedding.

I've decided that I'm going to start reading the book series. I won't have HBO by this time next year, so it's not like I'm going to be spoiling anything for myself anymore.
