Liked The Office finale, but disagree with EODS' take on Pam/Jim. :)

Handy and FR as always deserve to suck it. :D

I liked it. The Office really fell of the rails in it's last... 6 seasons, but when I started watching it again this year, I enjoyed the ride.

A few characters come back in the finale, I won't talk about which ones (unless we're past spoiling the thing), but one of them came back for pretty just two lines, and they were delivered perfectly.

My only real disappointment (other than general complaints about The Office in general) was Jim and Pam. I can't tell you what a lame copout the Jim and Pam storyline was without almost sounding like a feminist. Put short, they had a conflict this season that happened because Jim is a self-righteous ****, and in the finale, they played it off like Pam was just being fussy and holding Jim back from his "true potential" to keep the status quo. It was lame.

I think the writers tried too much to shove Jim's "selflessness" down our throats. Had they taken some time to develop Pam's perspective in the last three episodes, I could have completely bought into the ending.

Anyone catch the season finale of SNL last night? Last episode ever for Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudekis. And Seth Meyers will only be on for the first half of the season. The Stefon sketch in Weekend Update was perfect and the last sketch of the night was a great send off for those guys. I admit I geared up a bit. And Ben Affleck did an excellent job.

I agree. It was a very good episode. Coincidentally, Seth Meyers leaving makes me wonder what they'll do with weekend update. I don't think there's a clear candidate to take over for Meyers. I wonder if they'll bring a behind-the-scenes writer to do the update ala Tina Fey, or maybe they'll go with a duo again.

I was a bit disappointed they didn't do more of a tribute like they did for Wiig last season. I also didn't realize there were more departures than Hader and Arison, but if Sudekis were for sure leaving why didn't he participate in the slight goodbye they did do?

Wasn't he on drums?

All I can say about the Doctor Who season finale is whoa!

Glad I recorded the Billboard awards so I could FF through the crap - it took three hours before they did something that wasn't over-produced/house music/techno/pop.

And I know Sudekis was there, but only Hader/Arnison were front and center hugging at the very end.

Holy cow. Between Veep and Mad Men last night, Lucille Bluth is going to have some serious work to do next week to keep her title of world's worst parent.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Why is Sam such an idiot?
Well, if he wasn't an idiot, his father might not have threatened to kill him if he didn't join the Night's Watch.

But seriously, though, I think he might have been better served to try to go back for that Dragonglass dagger he found.

We weren't told how that dagger was made in the TV show yet. We only knew that it was special.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

True, but seriously, it did something special and he leaves it behind?
Yeah, I know. It's one of those really boneheaded moves that actually had me saying something at a character on TV last night. I almost never do that.

Yeah, he takes the time to get the girl and baby but doesn't grab the weapon...
