TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

You remember everything you did at a drunken party on say, this day, 30 years ago?

Yeah, it probably happened. Yeah, being drunk was probably a factor in why it happened. From what I've read, he didn't rape or molest Rapp, he just tried putting the moves on him, and was rejected. If it's not a repeatable pattern of behavior, with far worse consequences, I'm not gonna be the one who says it should ruin Spacey's career.

Actually, by legal definition, it was probably sexual assault (of a minor) depending upon the details.

Well... maybe not in the wild and crazy 80s.

:D

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

I know the underage thing is creepy, but who hasn't drunkenly put the moves on someone who just wasn't having any of that?

Yeah, macking on a woman at a bar or party is the same thing as picking up a 14 year old and carrying them to your room and attempting to seduce them.

You guys are just trolling now, right?

:D

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

I don't know where the fvck you lived in the 80s, but where I was living, a 26 year old and a 14 year old was definitely "ooky."

And also illegal.

26 and 14, yes that was ooky (hardly unheard of though).

23 and 16? Not at all.

Legality? 18 and 17 is "illegal." That has nothing to do with morality.

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

Most it's 18, but most have also enacted Romeo and Juliet laws to protect high school romances where the age difference is minimal.

I *think* we have that in MN. It's a 3 year difference.

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

I thought most states it's 16.

To me, though, kinda creepy if you're in your 20s.....

Prolly true as a rule, though there's 16 and then there's 16.

The basic problem is young boys are worthless and getting even moreso. In the 80s 18 year old boys were the mental and emotional equivalent of 14 year old girls. It's probably dropped to 12, now. Boys are basically useless. Teenage girls are dopes, too, but Nature doesn't give a **** about your sparkling personality.

Oh my god...this is a TV thread not a perv thread.

Take it easy. The talk is within of the parameters of this whole issue, which involves TV actors. Start another thread if you want, but don't participate in the discussion and then lecture us at the same time. Hypocritical. ;)

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

So is it bad form to mention the redhead in the Wells Fargo commercial who was on Degrassi?

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

I can't believe people are still trying to defend/dismiss a 26 yr old trying to rape a 14 yr old.

Well, you tell me when you find one on here. Then we can all burn him at the stake.

Yeah I did, then I started talking about TV which is what this thread is for. Now you skeeves are talking about age rules so sorry but to say this went off topic is a bit of an understatement.

There is a Nice Planet thread where people talk about stuff like this...just saying.

Re: TV: There She Is, The Old Radiation King

So I finished 6 episodes of Stranger Things and it got better (6 was the best episode of the season so far) but it took so long to get here I just feel like it is a bit too late. I feel like they slow played it too long and could have gotten to where we are now in half the episodes but the writers didnt have enough story to do a full season so they stretched it out. At least now I enjoy most of the new characters...although the stupid Mulletboy can just never show up again and I will be happy. Bob rules though :)

I wont lie though...the Flaggy-like character is pretty hilarious :D

according to this map, it looks like most are 16:
https://www.ageofconsent.net/states

Maine is 16 plus there is a close in age aka "Romeo and Juliet" law, which allows 14 and 15 year olds to consent with someone that is 5 or fewer years older . There are exceptions for teachers, employers, coaches, etc (basically anyone is a position of power over the minor) so a minor can not legally consent to sex with them.

It is surprising, no doubt.

Although I recall there being plenty of apologists around here during the Paterno deal too.

Somehow pedophilia is a grey area to our resident "intellectual elites."

There still is. And now that school is already top 4 in the country in football. Minnesota Basketball was destroyed for more than a decade after a tutoring scandal.
