Have any of you watched "The McCarthys"? It's a Boston-based sitcom so many of you probably don't. It started at the end of October on CBS. The guy who created it went to school with my boss - she told me about it. I'm catching up on the first couple of shows on OnDemand. It's not bad, I was expecting it to be awful. The laugh track though is killing it. I know it's taped in front of a live audience but I feel they have added to it on every line of dialogue.

Gotta say I'm really liking this season of the Walking Dead. Best one since the first imo.

Typically, I don't like when they split the group up, but I'm liking/loving all of the backstory that we're getting.

Also like that they came back into an urban area where the devastation is more omnipresent.

Thought tonight's episode was great.

Walkers camped on the skyway... :)

Well I finally got around to starting episode 1 of season 2 on House of Cards.

You may find this season to be way over the top for pacing, but they did it that way b/c at the time they only had a two-year deal. I think that if they knew it would be a hit, they'd have stretched it out a bit more and gone deeper into the story. It really accelerates in S2.

The Walking Dead has really stepped it up this season. The last few have not been great, IMO. This one is just excellent TV. Great character development.

It got a little too "action packed" in the final 2 or 3 episodes of season 2, but I still love the show.

I'm almost caught up with American Horror Story: Freak Show. It is by far the most complex and interesting of the series which, despite occasionally falling into torture porn, has been excellent. I'm even enjoying Jessica Lange this time, and usually she bugs me.

Also: can we please go back to the Fifties for fashion? Every single woman is a turn-on.

They asked for 2 years, they wanted a specific episode count guarantee (Netflix gave them the option on the number according an interview I saw with Spacey) and figured 2 seasons would be the right amount to tell the story if they only made it that far. Season 2 moves fast but the last few episodes were golden in my mind :)

The gf and I just started watching Blue Bloods (about 8 episodes in) a bit formulaic but we really like it.

I would like that. Also love the '30's and '40's for fashion.

State of Affairs starts tonight.

The Good Wife has been incredible this year. Best year ever maybe.

Some women looked attractive in those hairstyles. A young Joan Crawford or Bette Davis for example.

I've watched several episodes. I like it well enough. It's a real head-scratcher though why they would put it on after Two and a Half Men. The audience for the two shows couldn't be more different. It's more of an 8 PM or 8:30 PM show, definitely not a 9:30 PM show after raunchy lead-in.

One question several of us have had is where exactly in Boston is it supposed to be? The close-up map doesn't look like South Boston (South Boston doesn't have painted cross-walks on side streets IIRC), and the building style fits Dorchester better than Southie.

Who liked State of Affairs? I thought it was pretty good. Not Black List or Person of Interest good, but pretty good.

We just got around to last week's ep tonight and for the first time this season, I'm anxious to get to the next one.

I won't be back in this thread till after I see it.
