Has Don Draper become D.B. Cooper yet?

I don't know how to answer that, but if this was Don's last ep? I'd be fine with that. Peggy seems to be the main focus this season....

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

I'm just happy a show I like is going to last longer than a season.

Hell, I might have two new shows this year that make it past a year.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Person of Interest was just plain awesome all season. Can't wait for Season 4? I think it's 4 next year.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Peggy's entrance into her new workplace: BAD. ASS. And will Joan EVER really win?

Yes.

$250k isn't bad for 1970.

Don Draper as Harry Dean Stanton as Dean Moriarty as Neal Cassady. Alright; sure, sure.

But money wasn't the only thing with her. She wanted her accounts. She wanted to be an important business woman. She was left with a consolation prize (a good one, but not THE prize she wanted).

She could always use that money to start a rival firm. Or even better, marry Mister GeezYourBoobsAreNiceHurh IllGiveUpAllMyLifesDreamsForThemHurh, use his money to start a rival firm, and run it.

I think she knows a few people who could use a job...

Non-compete clause, which was mentioned, by her (IIRC) when this whole thing started. She'd have to wait (she's under a 4 year contract, don't know exactly how much time has passed since that signing).

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Someone I follow on Twitter posted a link to that theory wheb it broke two years ago. I had never seen the show, but itafter reading the article, it certainly seemed plausible.

The interesting thing is since that person figured it out AND posted the story, the show writers could have changed the script a little and still achieved as good of a wrap up.

Mad Men:

Well, okay then. I have no clue how this is going to go. And how the hell does PETE end up the big winner at this point?

They were telegraphing Pete from a mile away; the question is will he still **** it up Pete Style in the finale.

I enjoyed Don's little misadventure. It was pat, but after Betty we needed something non-challenging. I did not expect Betty to be the show's sacrificial "must kill someone for Profound Emotional Impact." But she's going out like the Betty we know and love, so good for her.

Oh, Duck. So glad you got one for the road.

They were telegraphing it, but I didn't think he'd make it THIS far before he screws up. If he screws up. He better screw up.

The Don thing...all the temptations...ok, he's gonna get found out...and nothing. Well done.

Didn't expect that from Betty. I have to give credit, also well-done. Actual acting for once, too!

And Duck...just Duck...yeah. I don't think there's anything more to add.

Edit: I pretty much hated Betty (and Jan Jones' "acting") from the start. There is no "Betty I know and love." ;)

Just binged through season 1 of Better Call Saul. I wish I had just waited four or five seasons to get into it like I did Breaking Bad. I want moar!

Seeing Jones on Last Man on Earth is interesting -- she isn't acting stiffly as Betty, she's acting stiff. Just as MM is a study of three versions of what it is to be a man (Don, Roger, Pete) it's also a study of three versions of what it is to be a woman (Joan, Peggy, Betty). The most valuable legacy of the show is that with the exception of Peggy and Roger (and he only sometimes) none of these models was visible or even comprehensible in the ALL I HAVE IS IRONY cramped culture of the current moment. MM has been a cure for the 21st century which, in case people haven't noticed, hasn't been turning out very well in regards to the perpetual adolescence it offers as models for adult behavior.

I'm rooting for Pete. The key note of the show has been that people never change, and I'd like to see that subverted for the most undeserving and unpleasant character, because the other key note has been you can lose everything in an instant -- even the comfort of justice.
