Hopefully we'll (including me) be able to get away from comparing it to BB as to be fair, it's a really different show and is starting to earn it's own stripes already.
Hard not to though for obvious reasons. Should fade over time.
Jeremy Clarkson's BBC career is hanging in the balance tonight after he was suspended from Top Gear for allegedly throwing a punch at a producer.
Clarkson, 54, who was pictured outside his west London home today, was put on a final warning by BBC bosses last year following a racism row in which he appeared to use the n-word while reciting the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe during the show's filming.
However, the BBC confirmed this afternoon that he has now been suspended pending an investigation following a 'fracas' with a male producer.
The Corporation also confirmed that Top Gear would not be aired on Sunday and doubt now hangs over whether the further two remaining episodes of this year's season will go ahead.
Yeah, that Better Call Saul episode was great. The AV Club review made a good point that I (naturally) didn't think about until now: I wonder if the episode would've played as well if you were a Breaking Bad virgin and were just watching BCS. Do you know enough about Mike's stoicism and resignation in life to fully appreciate that monologue at the end? Do the cop cliches wear thin if you aren't already aware of just what kind of guy Mike is and why its so awesome to get his backstory?
I don't think it would have had nearly the impact. In fact, I've gone so far as to tell a friend of mine, who's never seen BB, that he should avoid BCS until he watches BB. The entire show, from the first tremendous 5 minutes of episode one, is a back story for BB.Yeah, that Better Call Saul episode was great. The balance of the episodes of Allegiance will be available to watch on NBC.com starting tonight. I wonder if that means they might also be on OnDemand.
Right. Those first five minutes that end with him sitting in the dark room, waiting for the ghosts to get him, as he pops the tape in to "remember when". Right there that told me this was all about trying to tell us how the characters got to episode one of BB.Well the first 5 minutes is actually from after BB but sure...I see your point
