Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

That scene actually got to me more than the suitcase scene from last week. My stomach even started to curl up on itself.

Yeah, I mean....pliers, and grunting/exhaling/etc. At least in the hotel scene, the chick was dead.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Last week tonight is incredible. I have said it might be the best show on TV today. I'm amending that. I think I could argue it's one of the greatest shows of all time.

Tonight's smoking story was unreal.

The SNL 40 special: 45 minutes of content (that may be generous), 2:45 of advertising and filler. I shut it off at 10:30.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

I'm just watching clips of it today, which is essentially what happens with SNL nowadays anyway.

Seinfeld did a great job with his bit, and the Larry David back and forth was awesome.

Apparently Melissa McCarthy tried to reenact Chris Farley's motivational speaker act and it was a million different kinds of awful.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Seinfeld's bit was OK, but overly long, and I thought the awkward singing segments would never end. I did like how the worst reoccurring sketch of past decade (The Californians) was slightly redeemed by getting kicked off stage by the Buh-Bye Flight Attendants. And they spared us with only five seconds of the incredibly obnoxious and unfunny Mary Katherine Gallagher.

I enjoyed Wayne's World. I got plenty of small chuckles in, but most of it was boring. Glad we started it an hour late, so we had fast forward room.

Watching it on Hulu right now. It's a svelt 1:26:40, so I'm assuming they cut a lot of the fat from it (sadly most likely took some of the older clips with too since they couldn't get rights to them or something).

Weekend Update was good, except for said Melissa McCarthy. I laughed hard when Garrett Morris reprised his "News for the Hard of Hearing" bit when Chevy Chase was introduced. After that, I honestly can't remember what they aired until where I'm at currently watching at (Sienfeld's bit just started).

*edit* Just fast forwarded through Kanye. What WAS that? I didn't realize he was an art school dropout.

*edit2* The last two gags on the death reel were the best. Now up, Wayne's World.

*edit3* Apparently Hulu broke it into two parts. So I get to watch it out of order. Saved the best for last this way?

LOVING Better Call Saul.

Funny thing is though that it's already nothing at all like Breaking Bad.

It's in the same universe (obviously), but it feels like something utterly and completely different.

Credit to the creators for that. So far...

Given Saul's style, it kinda has to be different. I haven't seen the show...yet. I will.

The Simpsons Spin-off Spectacular aired last night on FXX. It put evyerthing else that aired to shame last night.
