Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I caught up on a bunch of shows last night.

SoA: The Juice storyline was stupid from the beginning and I'm ****ed that it ended the way it did. The whole storyline should have never happened, an now we lost one of my favorite characters. Other than that, I like the direction of the show, with the cartel deal going like it is, and Unger doing what he's doing with regards to the threats.

Revenge: I thought this week's episode was excellent, probably my favorite one yet. Surprisingly, Daniel is a much more likable character than I would have ever expected. It makes me wonder, does Emily stray from her plan when she realizes that Daniel isn't as bad as she originally thought, and spare him? Obviously we know how it ends with Daniel, but was it just me, or did Emily look surprised in the first episode when Daniel was found on the beach? It makes me think that by the end of the season Daniel isn't supposed to end up dead. I also like potential storylines that will develop if Nolan starts working with Emily on her plan.

Community: I finally got to last week's episode. While it was different, I found myself laughing quite a bit, so I guess it was a successful episode.

Psych: I loved that episode. The scene when they all wake up in the Psych office was great. Its been a while since I laughed that much at an episode of Psych. Also, ruffied Gus was great, we need to see more of ruffied Gus.

I couldn't agree more. One of my friends who watches regularly thinks Juice will somehow be saved... but whether that is the case or not, the entire storyline was awful, and was detracting from an otherwise excellent season so far.

Revenge: I thought this week's episode was excellent, probably my favorite one yet. Surprisingly, Daniel is a much more likable character than I would have ever expected. I know she mentioned something about her plans for Daniel at one point but I only half caught it, and otherwise have been under the impression that Daniel was never really a target for her because he was just a kid at the time of her father's incarceration and being with Daniel was more part of her plot for his mother than anything. But I agree about last week's episode being the a favorite thus far, until last week everything was seeming a little too convenient and easy, and now that things are beginning to spiral a bit out of control and others are on guard and starting to fight back, it's becoming far more interesting.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Psych was great last night, especially the Ed Lover cameo.

C'MON SON!

Last Night Gus had some serious game!

The look on the Chief's face when Gus does his little rant about being a pimp and walking out was great! Oh and Corbin Bernson never actually getting any pants :D

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I'm a bit behind on TV but I wanted to say:

VIVA MANTEQUILLA!

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

On Revenge, i think it'll turn out to be Daniel's college buddy who kills him. I think there's a little bit of unrequited ghey love there on the part of that guy, which will turn into jealousy and anger, and eventually murder as Daniel and Emily get closer together.

And was it Jack pulling the body into the sand dunes in that first ep? He probably was doing so to protect Amanda/Emily, as it appears that next week he figures out who she really is.

Yes, it was Jack moving the body in episode 1. Pretty soon Jack will figure it out, I'm not convinced it is next episode yet, that preview could be a red herring. Kind of like the previews of Victoria saying "YOU THINK YOU CAN FOOL ME!!!" and that line coming during a dream.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

If you have DirecTV, Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story may be going away. November 1 DTV will suspend carrying these networks:
FX
FOX Soccer
FOX Soccer Plus
FOX Movie Channel
National Geographic Channel
FOX Deportes
FUEL TV
SPEED
and any Fox Sports regional networks, like Fox Sports North.

The sides are disputing what the issues are, but without an agreement those channels go dark.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

The Walking Dead started at 8:00 this week. I approve and hope this continues. I don't like waiting until 9 every week.
The 8PM show was a repeat of the season premiere :p

Oh, you're in the Central Time Zone, so my 9:00 is your 8:00

Never mind :p

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I started watching The Walking Dead. Got through the first disk of season 1 yesterday, and disk 2 should be on the way via Netflix. So far I like it...much better show than I expected it to be. Plus the zombies are bad ***.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Well that was poorly planned. Thought fat boy was going to end it when he had to go up those steps.

Also watched that webisode series they keep plugging and that woman was full on retarded. Oh I got bit three seconds ago? Well best not use this gun in my hand to shoot myself, no I'm going to let them eat me alive.

Just brilliant.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I see promos and mean to watch/record shows, but one never knows if the networks are going to cancel them, so I never do. So what the networks have done is taught me not to watch anything on network TV anymore. Well done!

And why didn't she keep running? Even if she was deserting her kids (because that's a natural maternal instinct, right?) she could at least run in another direction so the zombies chase her instead of the kids. No...much better strategy to just stand there and let the zombies eat her...

Well that is the quickest and least painful way to die, right? We all know zombies prefer to go for the throat and suffocate their victims first before starting to eat.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

What would you have them do instead?
Have a little more patience with shows. There once was a show so bad it finished dead last in the ratings - 77th out of 77 shows. NBC gave it a little time to find an audience and it went on to become the #1 show in prime time, ranking in the top 10 for 8 of its 11 seasons on the air and capturing a stunning 117 Emmy nominations. Today, it would be canceled and we'd never have heard of Sam Malone and the gang down at Cheers.

If only.
