Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I was about to make this thread and name it "TV Shows 7: Last Thread Locked Just in Time to Stop Talking About Breaking Bad for a Couple of Months" or something shorter if I had to

And yet you had to bring it up :p

Breaking Bad is popular enough to have its own thread, IMHO.

I'm kinda surprised no one ever mad a Breaking Bad thread. Or just make it the AMC thread since Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Walking Dead are all there and from what I hear pretty good shows. I haven't sat and watched a full episode of any of them so I'm going by what I've heard.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I almost started a thread for them to have their circle jerk in but I figured one of them can do it themselves ;)

Psych premieres this week!! :D

The thread still needs my random Doctor Who news as well. :D

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Hopefully Pan Am will limp off the stage pretty soon. It's embarrassing.

I sorta enjoyed the Person of Interest pilot. "Embrace the police state, that guy's hot." It's nothing we haven't seen before, but if they play around with the tropes maybe they'll do something "of interest."

Haven't seen any other new shows worth a look -- that doesn't mean they aren't out there, I just don't know about them.

I haven't watched that one. I figured out from the previews that it would be one that I wouldn't like. The one new show I'm watching that I wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled is Unforgetable. I just don't think it is that interesting, it doesn't stand out from any other other detective/cop shows and I find myself doing other stuff during it because it doesn't hold my attention. It's getting deleted from the DVR schedule when I get home.

You're wiser than I. I thought it would be a Mad Men ripoff (it is) but I didn't know it would have a moronic Charlie's Angels angle (it does). And of course derivative shows usually botch or miss 99% of what was interesting about the target, while regurgitating 99% of all the laziness we've come to expect from shows.

I just reviewed one of those "ten new shows" lists and saw two I will try, but without much hope: American Horror Story and Ringer. Since I religiously watch Vampire Diaries my tolerance level of these types of shows is very high. We'll see -- if nothing else they may be entertaining trainwrecks (in a lot of ways, that's VD's appeal).

Oh, and I can't believe they did an American remake of Prime Suspect. This is why the terrorists will win: we do things like that. Helen Mirren should nuke L.A.

I said it the last thread also, but my favorite new show, by far, is Revenge on ABC. I hope others feel the same, because it will **** me off if this one gets cancelled.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Anyone been watching Homeland on showtime? I've got the first two episodes DVR'd, but haven't watched them yet. Supposedly Morena Baccarin gets nekkid.:eek::D

Also, what's that new Starz series, and when's that supposed to start?

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Well, that, and the one about the two law enforcement guys, terrorism, or whatever it's about.

I just checked the Starz site and don't see any new original series other than Boss and Spartacus. Another channel perhaps?

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Dunno, maybe it was just a short thing that already played, maybe it's not coming out for a while, I just remember seeing ads for it toward the end of the summer, CIA agent of some sort, teamed up with a more straitlaced partner/handler, lots of chit being blown up and stuff, sort of the same sort of vibe that The Losers had.

HIMYM was terrible tonight.

They got off to such a strong start with the first three episodes of the season, but the only way the past two weeks could have been worse is if Marie started stealing stuff again.
