TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I really like when there's an overarching story that spans series while each episode itself can stand on its own. The show Life did that very well, I thought, but it's too bad that the show ended after season 2 without the whole thing being completely wrapped. Damian Lewis had the lead character nailed, and Sarah Shahi was great as his partner.

I haven't seen that, but sounds similar to this. There is a definite ending to each episode so far, but a greater plot is afoot.

I have no doubts that Zero Hour is gonna end up disappointing, but I am such a sucker for Nazi mystery treasure hunt conspiracy stories that I'm gonna be watching it avidly.

As for The Americans, I really think Phillip and Elizabeth thought she was gonna make it to Cuba. They had these looks on their faces of such sympathy, happiness and hope for the girl, unless they're just incredibly great actors.

Given the underlying "family" issue with them, I also think they thought the mom/kid were going to make it to Cuba.

SNL tonight is Christoph Waltz with musical guest Alabama Shakes. I will be watching a full SNL for the first time in years.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I only have caught about 10 minutes of Zero Hour tonight. Never heard of it before I just happened upon it, and I'm definitely very intrigued....

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I watched it Thursday. To me, it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, if that makes sense.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that the Governor's first shot was a perfect shot to Axel's head and then he and the rest of his posse hit NOTHING over the next five minutes?

Nobody could hit anything. Felt like an old A-team episode.

EVERY shot at a zombie is a direct hit to the head, but hitting humans seems to be tougher.

Still liked the episode though and Axel getting hit like that was startling.

It's a cross of The DeVinci Code, National Treasure, with a little Raiders of the Lost Ark thrown in.

But like you say, they can't decide which of those movies they really want to copy, so they'
ve thrown in all three, stirred and simmered, and hope something good will come out of it. As I said, I have no doubts it will turn out to be a colossal letdown a la Missing, but I'm signing up for the ride.

He shouldn't have signed up for the Emperor Palpatine Memorial Shooting Course.

Said same thing to my son...

...other comments, nobody saw or heard the governator drive up in the pickup?

Where were Tyrese and the other 3? Why didn't the girl with the guns let them out to help?

A bullet goes through the filing cabinet or Axel...

The return of the two brothers was way too predictable.

Rick left his assault rifle in the dirt because he didn't have another clip, he is crazy but, c'mon.

Tyrese and friends left the prison when Rick had his mental breakdown last week. A crazy man talking to people who aren't there and waving a loaded gun in my direction would tend to make me get out as well. Robert Kirkman was on Talking Dead immediately after and was non-committal about whether we'd be seeing them again. As I predicted Sunday night, he was pretty much non-committal about every question he was asked - or he gave a joke answer, In my mind, having him on the show is a complete waste because he never says anything.
