Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

The Walking Dead... Predicted death toll next week? I'm going with O-Dog and/or Axel for sure. At least 2 Woodbury people, plus the nerdy doctor.

What's the mid-season cliff-hanger (no pun - Merle) gonna be?

Daryl & Merle? Andrea in the cross hairs? Rick about to kill the Gov when the scouting party shows up with Carl or Judith (really?) as a hostage? Governor's daughter eats Michonne's face?

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Glen's fight with the zombie was awesome. He's one tough little guy.

On another note, the season finale to Boardwalk Empire looks like it's gonna be terrific. Just from the previews, it looks like Richard Harrow, who's become one of my favorite characters, arms up to clean the house of Gyp's men all by his lonesome. And appears to come out on top. But does he finish with Jimmy's mom?

Just watched it. I have been hoping to see Richard go crazy (in a good way) all season. I had also been waiting for him to join up with Nucky or at least help him somehow even if he didnt know he was helping him. His scenes will be great. But on a more important note. How amazing was that ending? "...then you and me sit down and we talk about who dies." I was almost cheering when he said that. I don't care who Gyp is backed by, no way he can beat Capone, especially with a lone gunman like Richard also thrown into the mix. The finale is going to be amazing.

Probably another year until we see new Sherlock episodes. Link

:(

"...and Martin Freeman (who is appearing in the 57 films that are being adapted from the 300-odd pages of "The Hobbit"), production on the next trio of "Sherlock" episodes has been pushed back from January to March..."

lol :D

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Sons delivers again.

I'm kind of at a loss.......the "Can you hear my voice?" character......uhhhhhh....the hell? Making Otto break down like he did, then eyeing The Good Doctor......hmmmm.

Clay's options:
1. Disappear. Pros: he stays alive. Cons: no real ending to the conflict. Bad (traditional) storytelling. However, he would still be out there somewhere for future resolution.

2. Enlighten the club to all of Jax's allegations and back-door dealings (w/Juice, possibly Gemma, etc). Hope for the best. Pros: Clay might stay alive. Cons: mass chaos within the club. Highly entertaining tv, but what a mess to end when the time comes.

3. Some angle I'm not seeing at the moment.

Edit: I may be onto something when I said earlier, that Bobby Elvis might be the last man standing at the end of the show.

I guess most of (2) was the solution after all. Calculated risk, and given the aforementioned stability that Bobby wants (EODS, I believe, gets the credit on that one), made the most sense.

But holy crap, talk about opening sh*loads cans of worms in this episode.......All storylines into one, then one storyline into ALL the storylines. Beautiful.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Final observations from this episode:

  • Donal Logue is awesome.
  • That whole bit with the IRA and Galindo was fantastic. Talk about a way for Bobby's deal to backfire on the club. I loved that it was a lot happening while everything made sense in the context that it was presented. Lin needs time for overhead, Galindo needs guns NOW to deal with Lobos, Galindo knows they can get a last shipment from the IRA but needs insurance when they find out Clay's out... tons of chaos without anything too contrived.
  • Clay is wiley bastard. A wiley wiley bastard.
  • Clay also seemingly gave Juice a ticket to his own demise. I don't know what that gun means, but it can't be something good. I mean, he gave it to Juice, and Juice is Juice, so somehow this is bad news for him. I'm thinking that it might end up being evidence for one of Clays misdeeds. Maybe the gun used to kill Mrs. Roosevelt?
  • How badass was the tattoo removal scene?
  • Isn't it nice to have a celebrity cameo that's quick, to the point and over with? Kind of nice to have Dave Navarro show up without the show seemingly try to pause the action with a great big "Hey kids! It's Dave Navarro!!" sign above his head.
  • Seriously, this Otto thing isn't going away, and Donal Logue is back on FX. How nice.
  • So clearly Tig or Pope is gone next week. The question is which... is Jax playing a slow con against Pope to avenge Opie? Is he just going to hand over Tig and we get to see more of Pope next season? I'm secretly hoping for the latter.

Donal is always awesome. Period.
Bobby is now lost again....and he will lead to a solution. It's his way. He's the VP. He will guide the pres, while feeling no heat nor credit.
Clay takes manipulating to a whole new level. Even more than Gemma.
Juice is Juice.
I am surprised about the removal scene. Dunno the exact rules, but figured fire/knife were the only options for the offenses that Clay committed. And (forget his name) dug DEEP with the black. That's some hardcore tattooing, speak from some experience.
I had to second guess the Navarro appearance. If I hadn't JUST watched Ink Master, I would have had to look it up to confirm.
The key line to the Tig thing is, "He will be Clay's second hand man to me. Nothing more." Ploy? Or for real?

My guess was that "fire or knife" was for someone who had a chance to remove the ink and never did.

Or because Tig is a psychopath.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

When in doubt, it's always "B." ;)
Someone on AVClub noticed that the bed in the spare bedroom at the clubhouse wasn't there anymore. Ratboy probably got syphilis from having to get rid of that thing. Lord knows how many STDs were sitting on that mattress from the amount of whores and Tig that were probably touching that thing.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Is anyone watching Ink Master on Spike for season 2? I'm pretty sure that when Sarah gets voted off the show, she's going to explode and it will be AWESOME. It helps, for me, that I find her fire somewhat hot. She'd make for an exciting time, that's for certain.

She's *ing annoying. I think Navarro said it best after her little rant during last week's episode: "Wow." Her and the mohawked guy.....get over yourselves.

Anywhichway, I love the show, not for the reality part or whatever, but seeing the different ideas they come up with, the requirements they have to meet, and the critiquing. Amazing what makes a great tattoo compared to a really really good one (ex: oh this line here? That's off. You fail.)

The tattoos are fascinating. They're ripping good tats because the judges wanted an element that just wasn't there. When the guy did the koi dragon and didn't go traditional on it because his client wanted something different. I thought that was harsh, but then they mentioned the missing claw. It's something that completely slipped my attention.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

For the second season in a row, I like the "new school" guy the most. I'm not terribly into that style, but holy crap they are good.
