I heard Joel McHale would be on Sons of Anarchy, and I thought "Hey, that's Jeff Winger". I saw his name on tonight's credits, and I thought "Hey, that's Jeff Winger". I saw him show up in that bar scene, and I thought "Hey, that's Jeff Winger". I heard the first **** words out of his mouth be about his therapist and I thought "Oh wow, that really is Jeff freakin' Winger".
My five complaints about the episode of Sons (not spoiler-proofed):
(1) Unser playing wounded lover is out of character
(2) What a stupid and random way to go with the Gemma/Nero/Carla angle
(3) Seriously, Tara would get nowhere close to Otto right now and at this point I'm not sure I buy any motivation she would have to lie about how that went
(4) Likewise, I'm not buying Jax not telling Tara too much about stuff that happens... even if he doesn't want to talk about how avenging Opie made him not give a **** about killing an innocent woman, he's not talking about why Bobby looks like **** while Bobby's right there next to them? How long ago was it that Jax was disclosing a LOT of club stuff with Tara?
(5) Maybe I'm stupid, but I went almost the entire episode (right until Clay says "you weren't supposed to kill her") thinking that Eli and Rita had only lost the baby.
I'm not really faulting anything going on with Jax this week. It is a funny turnaround how now Jax supports a coke muling deal, while Clay opposes it, but it all makes sense in the context of how things are going on the show: Clay is right to point out that he shouldn't trust Pope for being so generous off the bat and Jax is right because Pope really has SAMCRO's nuts in a vice right now.Jax is realizing possible blowback since he's now the one in charge. He can't say "club decision" without it reflecting on his influence (before, he could push it off on Clay's influence).

Also: Clay's wounded act is brilliant. Aside from Ron Perlman being awesome, it seems like it was worth it not to kill him off at the end of last season after all.
Well I stuck with Revolution long enough. I can't take another episode of the "eye-candy" girl not following instructions and doing something incredibly stupid which threatens their gang of misfits. Usually shows wait a little longer than 2 eipsodes to start regurgitating the same basic story line week in and week out. Good riddance. What a shame, too. The concept was so neat, but this show is doomed if it continues on this path.
edit: Oh yeah and the other hottie gets stabbed in the gut, yet minutes later is able to rejoin the group on their trek through the wilderness. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
TV shows I'm watching, ranked on approximate amount of effort I'll make to see it first-run:
2. Archer
3. Venture Bros.
.
Watched the premier of Arrow, based on the Green Arrow comic book. Seems pretty derivative, looks a lot like The Cape minus the campy elements, with a bit of Revenge thrown in. Two really good scenes though, the opening montage as he's scrambling around the island, and the last scene in the lifeboat with his father.
I'll probably keep watching, although I don't expect it to stick around very long.
Scarlet's boyfriend Bobby Cannavale has been outstanding on Boardwalk Empire so far.
Heart of Archness is definitely worth seeking out. You can probably watch it it online if you don't want to wait for the DVD.Easily two of the funniest shows on TV. I cant wait for the new seasons of each. Also waiting for season 3 of Archer to be on DVD. I missed that 3 episode mini story (Heart of Archness) but I believe it is supposed to be on the season 3 dvd. Both of these shows have some of the funniest most quotable dialog ever.
Not only that, but this past weekend you got to (that is to say, Scarlet got to; the rest of us had to) see his schlong.Scarlet's boyfriend Bobby Cannavale has been outstanding on Boardwalk Empire so far.

Haven't caught up to that episode yet. I'm sure Scarlet enjoyed it immensely.
