Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I may just up and get all the DVDs to this point. I think this is a show worthy of repeat viewing someday.

I really really like the show, but I am thinking that I won't watch it again. I may change my mind someday, but as of now? No, not really. I'm rather picky when it comes to buying TV DVD, though. I only have 5 longer-running series on DVD (I don't count Wonder Showzen, since it only lasted 2 seasons).

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

so Last Resort is over, I think they did a respectable job of wrapping things up quickly since the show was canceled. Despite the talk that it was canceled but on hold to maybe be brought back next year depending, there is no more story to tell after last night's episode. So sad to see such a well done show not get a chance to find it's audience.

I realize it's not a fanboy type of show, but as far as network dramas are concerned I think Parenthood overall did a phenomenal job this season. I was disappointed it ended this early which is weird for a show like that. I also enjoyed American Horror Story: Asylum this year. And I can't wait for the next run of Southland.

As it reached the end I realized I was glad it was ending. Can you imagine how lame the show would have gotten by year 3? I mean there is only so much you can stretch believeability about how long one sub can hold a world hostage and soldiers were dying every episode so they were running out of manpower. I think one season was a perfect length and I liked the ending quite a bit.

On the topic of Parenthood, I love that show. Speaking as someone who recently had a good friend beat cancer, when they get Christine's results of the PET Scan I got choked up because I remember what that was like for my buddy and his family and how stressed they were before they got the results. The show hits all the right beats in the various aspects of the family's lives and is a lot ess cliche than other shows of its ilk.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Two things NBC related:

The most recent SNL really put itself out there in the cold open. It's finally nice to see them start pushing the envelope again. The rest of the episode was pretty good and it was nice seeing the Lonely Island guys back. I assume they have a new album or something they're working on/releasing because of the new song

1600 Penn. It's very entertaining and now I'm hooked. Josh Gad (Skip) created/writes the show and you can tell they're having a lot of fun with his character's story lines. Can't wait to see what else comes out of the show.

Ive been pleased with 1600 Penn as well. I think the style of humor fits in well with their Thursday lineup.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

The Skip character has already begun to bore me. He's going to be overused like Sheldon on TBBT.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Stop me when this sounds like a stupid idea:

AMC is considering doing a talk show in the same vein as Talking Dead that would air after the last four episodes of Breaking Bad.

Encouraged by the success of its Walking Dead post-mortem-post-mortem Talking Dead, AMC is reportedly planning a similar companion series to Breaking Bad’s final eight episodes. According to Deadline, the prospective show bears the awkward title Talking Bad, because no one liked our earlier suggestion of Just Jesse, apparently. Hey, what about After-Meth? Anyway, like Talking Dead, the show would be a live half-hour in which an as-yet-unnamed host and some guests discuss the events of the preceding episode, dissecting the dramatic tension that they just destroyed by interrupting it with their cutesy hashtag suggestions.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I don't care if they do it. I won't watch it. Simple.

But you'll be forced to watch the cheesy promos that they'll throw in right at the start of commercial breaks. Can't wait for some Chris Hardwick stand-in to chime in with some lame request for comments on a #killerbreakfast hashtag right after Walter Jr. kills Skyler for burning his bacon for the last time.

I can ignore that. The shows I actually watch, I'm pretty much zoned in on the show, nothing really distracts me, The League being the exception.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Caught up on some stuff.

Second episode of The Following was pretty good still. It looks as if they're trying to make you think the new FBI chick is also a follower. I smell red herring, as it seems to obvious of a plot device to have it actually be.

New season of Spartacus got off to a good start. Unlike Glaber, it's hard to hate this Crassus character. He respects his enemy, and does whatever he can to learn learn of them and how to defeat them. Too bad we all know how this ends up.

"You know what they say...its not a gang hang until someone takes a shot to the face!"

Happy Endings is a great show :)

This.

Showing 2 episodes a week is making me a little nervous that they are just using up their stock of episodes and it will not be coming back. Any show with Elisha Cuthbert and a Wayans not named Kim or Marlon deserves to continue.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

going to check out The Amerikans tonight. The promos look promising.
