Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I am sitting in the hotel room and came across the other pawn show on TruTV, the one that is in Detroilet. Wow, it is pathetic. It is only gang bangers and drug addicts bringing ****ty TV's that they probably stole from they're neighbor, and arguing that they should get $40 for their ****ty TV instead of $35.

Having worked in a Pawn Shop for 3 years, that is pretty much how it works. Pawn Stars is a fraud and a joke and is more scripted than half the crap on the networks :D

I wish I had easy access to the old episodes.

Netflix has some old ones if you have streaming capabilities. I highly recommend "Pyramids of Mars," anything from "The Key to Time" series and Genesis or Destiny of the Daleks.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

We both are not big Eccleston fans; he just doesn't feel Doctor-y. I'm rewatching some of Smith's first season and now that it's summer we'll probably watch David Tennant's series.

The reboot of the show has always been way too slick. The great thing about DW was the awkwardness and "only time for one take here lads so make the best of it." It just seems like another YDFC show now.

The first 4 doctors, each in his own way, are my favorites, with Colin Baker another OK one, though obviously very silly.

I should re-phrase my post to all of the old episodes that are still viable/not lost. I know it's not possible but still. Which Doctor(s) are in the episodes that you recommended.

The ones I mentioned were 4th Doctor stories. I can go by Doctor of my favorite stories, keep in mind some of the early stuff may be really hard to find.

1: Unearthly Child, (first one) The Aztecs, any Dalek story, Tenth Planet (regeneration into second Doctor)
2: Tomb of the Cybermen (a Matt Smith favorite), Seeds of Death, The War Games, The Krotons, Web of Fear, Ice Warriors, Mind Robber, War Games (regeneration into the 3rd)
3: Inferno, Spearhead from Space, the Daemons, The Time Warrior (1st Sarah Jane appearance), Three Doctors, any Dalek story, Planet of the Spiders (regeneration into 4th)
4: Robot, Ark in Space, Hand of Fear, The Talons of Weng-Chiang (my personal favorite), Brain of Morbius, Deadly Assassin, City of Death, Logopolis (regeneration into 5th)
5: Castrovalva, Enlightenment, Five Doctors, Mawdryn Undead, Frontios, Caves of Androzani (regeneration into 6th)
6: Attack of the Cybermen, Two Doctors
7: Dragonfire, Battlefield, Survival

This is stuff from the classic series and I probably forgot some stories, but i hope this helps.

Talk about irony. We were talking about Doctor Who yesterday and South Park(spoiler) models FunnyBot after a Dalek. It even uses Exterminate! I thought it was funny.

It does help. Thanks.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I'm just starting out with Dr. Who. This season is my first, so I'm quite partial to Matt Smith. tcbg loves Tom Baker as that was his first doctor. We both are not big Eccleston fans; he just doesn't feel Doctor-y. I'm rewatching some of Smith's first season and now that it's summer we'll probably watch David Tennant's series.

I wish Eccelston got a 2nd season. So far I still like Tennant more than Smith, though, but admittedly I haven't seen the current season (just got through last season on Netflix). But part of that is I can't stand Amy pond, outside of the eye candy she provides. Hell, I'd rather Rory travel with the Dr. and Pond get killed off.

I don't mind Amy as much as I thought I would've. I judge all companions by Rose and IMO Amy is just below Rose on my list of companions for the new series.

Having loved the old series. The be all and end all is Sarah Jane (God rest her.) Of the new series, I love Rose and Donna. I was skeptical about Amy, but the two-parter with the Weeping Angels sold me when she needles The Doctor about his relationship with River Song. ("Ooo... Doctor, you sonicked her.) I think Rory on board makes her even more palatable because there is another dimension that hasn't been done before with a married couple in the TARDIS.

My Top 3* list is
1) Rose
2) Amy
3) Donna/Rory

*Does not take into account companions from the specials.

Re-watching "Tilt" the ESPN show about, ahem, the poker world. My Parise it's still as bad as it was the first time, and still amazingly enteraining. Michael Madsen, bad metaphors coming aroud as often as a Fooper does/says something stupid.....pure gold for trashy TV.

It only lasted one season, thankfully, but yeah, everyone should watch it. :D

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I finished the last season of Breaking Bad last night, in preparation for the new season starting soon. Wow, that was crazy.

She's great, in part because her chemistry with Tom Baker is wonderful. Susan Foreman is another very interesting companion -- I'm sure a million English boys were in love with her in 1964.

Saw the series "Toy Stories" for the first time after hearing about it for years: http://www.jamesmaystoystories.com/

I saw the Lego House episode. It's great. You may know May from "Top Gear."

On the other end of the spectrum, "Falling Skies" was very disappointing.

Didn't watch it, but the season opener of "Leverage" was also very disappointing to the point of "jump the shark" disappointing.

Watching Conan. This dude still looks just like Zack Morris. Aside from the lack of bleach in the hair, I suppose.

Ya know, Jimmy Fallon had Zack Morris on:
