Sportsdome was okay. They were pretty pitch perfect in terms of skewering SportsCenter, but that's a funny skit, maybe a couple episodes, not a multiple season series.

Norm's Sports Show was really good. Norm's timing isn't for everyone. Some people need to be told when to laugh and get uncomfortable if there isn't a punchline every second. But if you appreciate that style, it's really funny stuff. That's one I'll miss.

I'd much rather they have Norm have his own news-esque show. He admitted on The Daily Show that he's actually not a big sports guy except for gambling. I'd much rather see him as a lead in for TDS-CR. Let Norm do his Weekend Update kind of thing.

In a related matter, Norm MacDonald loves to do his own thing for his own enjoyment over anything. If you'll recall on the Roast of Bob Saget, Norm had an interesting "set", it's Norm being Norm.

I finally caught up with my recordings of Spartacus: Blood and Sand and was really glad to see that Gannicus didn't get killed off. Really liked his character, and I was dreading his death in the arena the whole time, so it was nice to see it didn't have to come to that.

I am sitting in the hotel room and came across the other pawn show on TruTV, the one that is in Detroilet. Wow, it is pathetic. It is only gang bangers and drug addicts bringing ****ty TV's that they probably stole from they're neighbor, and arguing that they should get $40 for their ****ty TV instead of $35.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

Finally got to see the mid-season finale of Doctor Who and WOW! Awesome stuff. We find out who River Song really is and the next episode is called (from Wikipedia) "Let's Kill Hitler."

Another plus, I've finally hooked my fiance on the show. Although convincing her that THE Doctor could blow away Doc Brown from Back to the Future fame away is an entirely different matter.

One battle at a time, I guess.

That's been on for a while. I have only seen ads for it, but the old guy that works there looks like a piece of work. It looks like the tabloid version of Pawn Stars.

You know I like Doctor Who but I'm not sure I really like the current doctor all that much or understand how/why the doctor that shows up at the diner after the events with the astronaut would look the same as before...obviously he shouldn't but I guess they weren't ready to hire a new actor.

It's probably what actually goes on at most pawn shops. Magnified because of the cameras. Old dude is pretty bad***, but his kid is a *****.

The pawn shops I hear about are mostly similar to retail stores nowadays. The industry is really trying to re-image themselves from a shady-type/criminal exchange to a surburban almost-outlet-store business.

Try as they might, they are still shady. A shop in Faribault accepted $12,000.00 worth of stolen merch that used to belong to a buddy of mine.

That's bad. IIRC state law says you have to take IDs and run the ID and merch through a database to see if it's stolen.

The Doctor that gets killed by the astronaut is 200 years older than the current Doctor in the series. The one who gets shot sends his younger self a postcard to remember to defeat The Silence. As for his age, Time Lords don't age all that much. (Although Tom Baker looked pretty worn out towards the end. However, it was health problems that did that to him.)

I like Matt Smith actually. My fiance finds him funny and he's gotten her into the show. (She actually loves Amy too because she tells her husband, Rory, to stuff it sometimes.) T. Baker and David Tennant are still my favorites, but I enjoy Troughton, Pertwee, Davison and Eccelston as well.

Well I was being lazy about getting around to watching it.

I definitely think Tennant is the best of the current show. I have never seen anything from prior runs of the show. As for the whole age thing...how did we get more than 200 years past the David tennant Dr? I can't say that Ive seen every episode so maybe I missed something.

It just fast forwards to the time, but the Doctor that shows up in the restaurant is I think only a few years older than Tennant's Doctor.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I was hooked on Doctor Who since I saw the first episode of the re-launch. Matt Smith's Doctor has his own charm that has made me like his seasons more than I should. It makes me feel like I'm cheating on David Tennant's Doctor. If Chris Ecllesstein stuck around for more than a seaon maybe I would feel differently about Tennant and Smith's Doctor.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I'm such a Whovian that my fiance made me a Tom Baker scarf. It's not an exact replica, but I love her for making the effort.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I'm just starting out with Dr. Who. This season is my first, so I'm quite partial to Matt Smith. tcbg loves Tom Baker as that was his first doctor. We both are not big Eccleston fans; he just doesn't feel Doctor-y. I'm rewatching some of Smith's first season and now that it's summer we'll probably watch David Tennant's series.

Yeah I get Norm's style, and it is perfect for Weekend Update or comedy because he is talking about something he seems to like and understand. His sports show you could tell he wasnt into it.

But if you want to act all snobby and pretend the reason I didnt like it is because I just dont "get it" like you do, feel free. You are wrong, but what else is new.
