Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

Not as sorry as I am.

You're fine; I was just doing my morning stretching.

:p My own ADD causes me to ramble on a lot. There's just so much from that last episode that I kinda rambled my thoughts. The Hen always hates when I ramble on about things.

Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

Of course Hugh Laurie in space looked great on paper and that was meh.

Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

Season 3 of letterkenny is a f—cking masterpiece

I burned through all 8 seasons during a free trial recently. That whole series is hilarious. They reached a LITTLE at the end with the jokes, but overall? Thumbs up.

Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

Episode 1 of The Plot Against America was great. Good cast too.

Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

I have still only seen through S1.3. I've got to get my act together.

Dr. Mrs. hates it so I'm going solo.

It's a different style of humor, for sure. I can see why people don't like it.

She's very, very bad on male humor. She doesn't like:

+ Stooges (OK, I have never met a woman who gets the Stooges)
+ Marx Bros (srsly?!)
+ Red Dwarf
+ IT Crowd
+ The Blues Brothers
+ Animal House
+ Caddyshack
+ Slap Shot

But she loves Midnight Gospel and BoJack so I am absolutely not complaining.

Also, she watches chick comedies that I would rather drill into my head than watch ten seconds of, so I should talk...

I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s kinda like if a really good writer did “Ow my balls” because sometimes “Ow my balls” can be funny, but also to make fun of “Ow my balls” shows.

You typed a paragraph of gibberish latin to protest the structure of someone's post, and I'm overthinking it? :p

It’s a speech given by Cicero on the Roman Senate floor. Kind of famous, and later used by computer techs as filler in model mock ups.

No, I totally get it. I love it. It's the best deadpan humor I've seen in a long time. It must be 100x funnier if you know people like it, but I still think it's brilliant.

And I would probably just watch for the sister.

Deadpan and dry. Nailed it.

I understand the IT crowd (clowns, yo).

She probably doesn't like it like I don't really like a majority of Benny Hill and Monty Python. Not my style. There are a couple exceptions of course, but overall? Nah. And "Laurel And Hardy" are better than the Stooges or Marx Brothers. Just sayin'.

Marx Brothers > Laurel & Hardy > Abbot & Costello > Stooges > Ritz Brothers > East Side Kids / Bowery Boys

LH, Stooges, Marx. AC had their moments, the rest, I dunno enough about to make a legit commentary on. :)

I've been listening to a lot of A&C on Sirius. They're fantastic. I don't think their TV or movies really did them justice. Their live routines just have incredible snap. They are such pros.

But the master is Jack Benny. He's still not dated and it's been 70 years. He's brilliant; very much like Colbert (well obvs vice versa).

I love male humor...letterkenny made me violent I hated it so much. To each their own.

This actually does not surprise me given our jousts.

There are supposedly funny shows which make me homicidal they are so unfunny. Modern Family. Broke. Give me a knife and ten minutes' head start.
