TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Is it all but official that he's going to Fox?

The problem if he goes to Fox he has no 10pm lead-in and no local news to follow (the Fox affiliate here broadcasts news at 10pm with the NBC affiliate's news team). His ratings will be a disaster without a quality lead-in. This is why he'd be great for the midnight slot on Comedy Central. He'd have TDS and Colbert as lead-ins and a lot more freedom to do what he wanted. He also wouldn't have the same ratings pressure at ComCen at 12:00 as he'd have at Fox at 11:35 opposite both Jay and Dave.

A lineup of Stewart/Colbert/Conan would make Comedy Central a big-time late night player as well. Since Conan is walking away with $33 million from NBC, hopefully his decision doesn't come down to how much money Fox can throw at him.

Part of his agreement to leave NBC states he can't go anywhere until September. Good move NBC, let him comeback when TV gets fired up again in the fall.

Seriously. If they want him to fail, they should allow another network to start him in June...like NBC did. Basically if NBC wants him to fail they should make it easy for other networks to act like them.

In that scenario I wonder if it'll be smart to have Conan on at midnight, or just bump up both shows half an hour.

They're probably thinking that if Leno gets a six month head start on him, they can bury him.

Problem with that line of thinking is they think people are going to go back to watching Leno.

So it's come to this: an Office clipshow.

I guess they wanted to show something funny for the first time all season.

Just awful, I was so disappointed. I turned it after about 5 minutes.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Finally found the last episode of FNL.

Thoughts:

1.) Jess, choose Vince. Maybe I am still jaded from the murder storyline in Season 2 (which, I know, didn't exist), but Vince is such a great, well rounded character. And I've finally settled on the "Landry sucks" side of the fence.

1a.) I finally had to look on IMDB to figure out where I recognized Jurnee Smollett from. Both Full House AND the Cosby Show! That's a long career for a 23 year old.

2.) I realize this could turn into a political debate, but dammit Becky, make the right choice here.

3.) This show does SO well in exploring the way people interact in relationships, and individually. Vince's inner conflict, Eric & Tammy's relationship, even Julie's teenage snits (which I can't stand, but I recognize as realistic) all humanize the characters so much more than any other show.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

If you thought Jersey Shore was bad, apparently there's another show on MTV called "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" which has even doosh-ier dooshbags.

Poor spelling conquers bad-word filtering once again! :D

And on the 5 year anniversary of Johnny Carson's death, the Tonight Show sputters to an end.
