TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

La Palma (Netflix).

Norwegian SF Channel-like disaster movie about a piece of the Canary Islands sliding off in an eruption and creating a mega-tsunami that drowns all Atlantic coastal areas. (Fun fact: based on an actual possibility.) Terrible. Just as poorly written and acted as an American version would be. Highly recommend.

I've really enjoyed The Bear S4 quite a bit through 4 eps. They've toned down the endless bickering that got a bit too much in previous seasons and it's been a more calm and cerebral experience so far. Some solid character development and hopefully Carm continues to stop self-sabotaging himself. And while less germane to the overall quality the soundtrack is on fire. Love & Rockets and REM in one sp? Yes please.

That’s about where I am. I think it’s much better than season 3.

Gonna be delayed however- sandman out today

I read it...never was motivated to watch it. That got worse when Gaiman got Me Tooed.

(I love the comic)

Hey @state of hockey since I see your picture is of Jason Mantzoukas, have you been watching any of the current series of Taskmaster out of the UK? He is the first American to appear on the show (he apparently begged them to let him be on it) and he is exactly as you expect. Just as unhinged as many of the characters he portrays. And absolutely hilarious.

Having recently finished a year plus watching Brooklyn 99 and now watching The Good Place, I approve of anything he might be in.

All episodes (series 19 is the one he is in) are on the Taskmaster YouTube channel. Looks like 9 so far with at least one more to come

I haven’t, but I’ll check that out. He’s one of my favorites.

The picture I chose speaks to me more than it just being him. The context in this scene of his character being a complete moron and acting all snooty really hits home for me. 😂

@French Rage - The only thing I start to not enjoy him in is The League. But that’s because the show went to that well and used his character too often. Wasn’t his fault.

His stint as Dennis Feinstein in Parks & Rec is great, too.

Noted. He's great as a very supporting character, but the closer to main cast would be questionable.

I know I mentioned two Fremulon shows that I liked, so Parks and Rec would seem the obvious next choice, but I'm so fuckign tired of hearing about it and Amy Poehler just sucks so much and also Aziz Ansari and that dildo with the curly hair suck so much in everything else they're in that I will never ever watch it.

To each their own and all, but

He was my least favorite part of The League. There were some funny moments, but overall he seemed too high energy for the show. They already had the wild card with Taco, they didn't need another wild card who seemed coked out all the time.

That was why he was cast in the part. He wanted to be one of the original characters but they told him to wait they had a part for him after season 1. He was the chaos agent...Taco is just a stoner version of Kramer. Raffi is the dark side of all of them, untethered by social norms in any way. His origin story is awesome!
