TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

A terrible cough and cold is making sleep hard to come by. I somehow ended up watching suits (caught a few late night episodes a day on tv so I started at season 4- and no I don’t care enough to watch 1-3.

The show can be entertaining. The Jessica /donna/harvey/and Robert Zane characters are decent.

Meghan markle has absolutely no talent and is painful to watch

Even the character of Louis is growing on me but I’ve no idea how he actually does any lawyering among his neuroses

But the character of Mike Ross? Truly one of the most annoying, myopic, self centered tv characters I’ve ever seen. I am hoping for him to get shanked and bleed out in prison

Severance continues to deliver the goods and has miraculously managed to avoid getting stale without also becoming trite, instead it was unsettling, moving and heartbreaking. At this point I do not think that
="Gemma and Mark will ever have a chance to be happily reunited

^Is my spoiler visible to anyone else?

Also we finally get to see serious screen time for Dichen Lachman who is absolutely my new favorite crush.

Just use the spoiler tag. Much easier to handle.

Oh, I see you have it but misplaced the brackets.

Anyways, the Severance episodes thru current episode

was really hard to watch for us given our fertility struggle. I didn't think my wife was going to make it through the episode.

But man alive, the last two episodes have been PEAK television. The Gemma episode was an absolute triumph. 10/10. It's going to stick with me for a very long time even aside from our personal connection.

Brilliant storytelling and cinematography. Acting was superb. The story advanced at the same time the ending moved farther away. If they don't get the Emmy for this season then the award is meaningless.

The current episode was just bonkers. Straight bonkers. Not sure what to make of the whole Cobel inventing severance but I guess we'll see where it goes. It seemed out of place for the show but I have supreme faith in the writers.

I’ve been waiting for a Cobel episode, but I’m not sure what to make of it yet. Newfoundland is gorgeous though, eh?
Loved the setting. Hated the episode.

It was remarkable to see the contrast between Patricia Arquette's adolescent mugging and screaming and squawking and Jane Alexander's quiet, beautiful acting.

Funny you hated it. I figured it was the type of episode you’d love and tell everyone that didn’t that they’re unenlightened and short sited
"Sighted."

Believe me, I'd love to do that. But I don't think there's anything wrong with people for liking this episode, it just wasn't for me. It was too much like other shows (paranoia, plot, dark forces). I prefer the claustrophobia of Severance and its cramped weirdness.

I also didn't like the finale of S1, which again felt like a normal TV show.

TBH though I loved the Camping episode so it's probably just I hate the Harmony Cobel character.

You can enjoy being an asshole, but I have four languages that I speak and have all 4 keyboards on my phone at all times, so spell check gets a little odd

I peruse the severence reddit thread about once a week. I can’t take more, because those people are insane. It’s like supertroopers with “enhance” 24/7. What they found last week with the crib box made Ben stiller say he’s kind of scared of those people

But anyway, one person had a theory that people get really uncomfortable with a woman character who dares to be older and have long gray hair, and who isn’t exactly a warm person. People are so used to young women who look like they are young and sometimes an older one can be displeasing

I don’t think you care about that at all, but it was interesting.

The only thing I didn’t like about this last ep was that the one previous was just so damn good

I can and do, but if after 25 years you can't tell my sarcasm without a /s I can't help you.

I am curious what languages you speak. I am deeply envious and impressed. Multilingualism is a superpower I wish I possessed. Were you raised multilingual? Do I blame my parents or am I just lazy and stupid?

There is something in that. I just watched an Always Sunny ("Mac's Mom burns her house down") which was centered on Charlie's and Mac's (old, annoying) moms and I was very uncomfortable.

Yes, I believe this is a fair cop -- it's my unconscious bias. I had not examined that before. I will keep it in mind. Thank you.

I will say I loved the Newfoundland scenery and I liked the idea about a Lumon "factory creation story." I just really do not care for Harmony -- have not since the beginning -- because I find the actress jarringly overwrought for such a tight, quiet, minimalist show. She is the diametric opposite of Milchick and Irving. I don't like Devon for the same reason.
