Impotent posturing will surely be their downfall.

I don't doubt that.
Checked out the House of the Dragon premiere, still feeling hurt by the crapshow the last few seasons of GOT had turned into.
I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe the source material being complete will save this from a similar fate, but only time will tell. I'll keep giving it a shot.
I'm not sure I want to be hurt again. The CGI looked amazing which can be a bad sign since effects and writing are typically inversely proportional.
The writing of the first episode was phenomenal. The source material is everything. George screwed them over last time.
Shows that continue to be great as I watch episodes slowly so no spoilers please:
Show I'm not sure about yet but keep giving a chance because possibilities:
- The Bear
- Only Murders in the Building
- Reservation Dogs
- Tuca & Berty
Speaking of Gaiman, I wish American Gods would come back.
- Sandman
OMitB S2 is better than S1, IMO.
I was almost surprised it wasn’t bad.
I’m not a history buff so I can’t point out what wasn’t right for the time period but everything looked very similar to GoT for being set 200 years prior
I remarked to my wife, "These guys didn't make a single architectural improvement in two centuries? That's what you get when you have right wing authoritarian government."
The new series is 200 years in the past. So, I wouldn't expect any improvements.
That's my point. GoT series didn't show any improvement.
Not surprising. They're going to save money where they can. Using as much as what was already there for the original.
