TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I watch a lot of tv as well but make up for that by hardly ever watching movies.

That is the exact opposite of me. After this year, 3 of my shows are done (Mad Men, SOA, Justified) leaving The League and The Americans as the last two shows that I watch. Californication is done (although I haven't seen the last season, I just buy the DVDs so I don't have to pay for SHO), and BB ended last year. That about covers my tv show habits in the past 5 years or so.

On the other side of the coin, I recently topped 1100 movies on Netflix. I try and watch 3-4 a week, maybe more in the hockey/football offseason.

Edit: I did watch True Detective, but on Netflix. I will continue to do this with that show.

Watched the first episode of Leftovers. I'm intrigued by it, and I will watch more. I guess the open endedness, and the lack of answers doesn't bother me, as long as there is eventually a payoff. I'll hang on for a while without getting answers.

At the end of episode 3 they had a teaser for the coming weeks stuff. It looks like it starts to pick up soon.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Did anyone watch the end of 24?????? I think they kinda left it open for another day in the future. I really wish they had the full 24 epihours.

A little disappointing -- like we've seen it before. But I agree the door is open.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I am currently left with The Bridge and Tyrant. Justified, Fargo and American Horror Story should all have another go and I will give the American remake of Broadchurch (Gracepoint) a chance at least. No more Southland is a bummer.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

For me it is, first and foremost, Game of Thrones. Followed by the next incarnations of True Detective and Fargo. I also watch The Bridge, I think I'm going to like Leftovers, so there's that too, and I am watching season one of Ray Donovan now, and that is pretty good as well. I still will have quite a few to watch after SOA is over. I keep trying new shows, and I'm sure there will be more that catch on.

I'll probably start marathoning old series like The Wire and The Sopranos, along with Boardwalk Empire and there's another one or two I had my eye on, but I forget them right now.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Currently, I have Tyrant, The Bridge, Graceland, The Americans, and Sons of Anarchy. Game of Thrones will have to wait until the DVD comes out (). Also, just finished Dexter on Netflix, and trying to figure out which show to watch on there next (leaning towards Friday Night Lights). Would like to find a way to watch Justified, The Sopranos, and The Wire eventually too. Have also seen 3 episodes of True Detective, but will have to wait to finish that too (same problem as GoT...no HBO).

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

True Detective and Wire are on disc on Netflix. Spend the $8/month. Worth it. I have the 1 disc/streaming plan, about $17/mo. Watch 4-5 movies in a month? Paid for, if you consider the selection.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I have the first couple seasons of the Wire on DVD (have to make sure it's not bluray).

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

OK, so I got a Sony Blu Ray player for Xmas that I have not yet hooked up. Why? Because the stupid thing didn't come with an HDMI cable. Seriously?? Everyone's like "Oh just get one on Amazon!" Have you seen how may you can get? Which one? Is there something specific I need? Are they all the same and I can just pick one? Also, I got AppleTV. Didn't buy, got it as a recognition award. That came with an HDMI cable. Do I need a second one fo the Blu Ray player? I want to be able to get Netflix once AppleTv is hoked up but I need some technological guidance here.

There are a few variances with HDMI, but this will do everything you need - a fairly basic cable. http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-High-Speed-HDMI-Cable-Meters/dp/B003L1ZYYM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405523941&sr=8-2&keywords=hdmi+cable+blu+ray

There are cheaper options, by maybe a buck or two, but I've had good luck with the Amazon Basics cables thus far. I have a couple off-brand cables, too, and they look a bit iffy, like they're going to break if I move them.

If you spend more than $5, give or take, it's a ripoff, unless you need something ridiculous like a 100 foot long cord where it's possible signal degradation comes into play.

Presuming you just need a 3-5 footer, though, just get the cheapest one you can find on Amazon or monoprice.com. and never, ever, buy a cord from Best Buy unless you absolutely need it that second, like your kid cuts the cable on super bowl Sunday.

Edit: as far as if you need one for each, yes, unless you want to physically move the cord between your bluray and your Apple tv each time you need to use the other device. Your tv should have plenty of inputs,so you can leave them both plugged in at the same time. Personally, I'd think not having to move the cord every time would be worth the $5 of buying a second cable.

If you haven't seen it already you may want to give Homicide Life on the Street a watch before doing The Wire. Same setting Baltimore Cop Show and same producing crew, though it's quite a bit tamer since it was an NBC show.

I've been watching Luther from Netflix and it's a really good show but what's up with the BBC seasons? Season 1 is 6 episodes and Season 2 and 3 are 4 episodes and I thought Top Gear was bad with it's 10 episode seasons.

Theo Huxtable, Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson will be in the final season of SOA. Yeah.
