It was a deserving nomination... It was a case where the entire cast of the show worked very well off of each other, and that is what brought the characters to life... Daniels was just the highest profile character in the series... I don't feel that he will win, but it was a very well played run by him...

This would be as good a year as any, but the odds are stacked against him. I think the other two I mentioned are getting a lot more attention at the moment.

I really can't see them giving it to anyone but Bryan Cranston, after what Breaking Bad did, and how great he was. I would have no problem with him winning it. I did like McConaughey's performance in True Detective better, but I don't think he'll beat out Walter White.

After this last season of Game of Thrones, I don't see how anyone touches Peter Dinklage in the supporting actor category.

I just watched Find Me Guilty, a movie from 2006 that I'd never heard of prior to this week, where Dinklage plays a defense attorney; the movie is based upon a true story of some mafia clan/family in NJ where one of the guys decides to defend himself. That guy was played by Vin Diesel and there wasn't a single explosion anywhere in sight, color me shocked. At any rate, Dinklage gave yet another good performance.

Looking at Peter's resume', and the man has been fairly busy since around 2005, but I'd never heard of him until GoT. Anytime I see him in a movie, though, he's always been really good. It makes me curious how prolific his career could have been earlier than that had he been grown a normal-sized man, or even Tom Cruise sized.

He was on this short-lived CBS series, Threshold, with Carla Gugino, where he played a sarcastic, boozing, womanizing scientist. And he was terrific. Could have seen him in something earlier, but that's the first role I can recall of him.

I've been going through Malcolm in the Middle lately on Netflix. One of my favorite shows but I can't recall watching it much the last two seasons, because of committment and I remember the quality starting to suffer. I'm only at season 5 so I'm still at the point where I've seen all the episodes thus far, but I gotta say it's still held up as a funny show. All the actors fit into their roles perfectly, and Cranston's theatrics to every event are hilarious. The opening scene in Breaking Bad reminded me a lot of Hal with all the flailing and screaming Walter does.

So, basically Tyrion Lannister transplanted to the modern era? That sounds awesome.

I remember seeing him guesting in a few episodes of Nip/Tuck.

I just looked through the last three pages and didn't see any posts about the HBO show The Leftovers. Anybody else watch the first two episodes? I can't tell if I really enjoy it or hate it. It's only two episodes in but at this point I have more questions than after the first episode. It seems like it could be a great show but I don't know if it actually has a plot versus just a bunch of random happenings that kinda intertwine. I think it is one of those shows that you have to watch the entire season for any of it start to make sense.

I watched the 1st episode and was not that impressed. I have yet to watch the second one and will probably give it one more episode before I decide whether to continue.

They have put out several shows that I like this summer.

I enjoy the Last Ship though I feel like it has to have a limited run so it doesn't end up like Lost or other shows where they just keep repeating with similar episodes or it just loses steam. I'm guessing 2 seasons. I think Tyrant has been excellent, thru the first two episodes. I also like Murder in the First which is something since I despise Taye Diggs, but I loved Murder One, especially Season One with Daniel Benzali before they replaced him with Anthony LaPaglia, which this appears to be a reboot of albeit mainly from the law enforcement point of view as opposed to the Defense lawyers point of view.

Not sure if I will give Satisfaction or Rush USA's new Thursday night shows a chance or not, neither one sounds that appealing. FX has two new comedy's starting this Thursday Married and You're the Worst that I haven't heard much about, as opposed to The Strain which starts tonight that they have been promoting.

As for returning shows I enjoyed the premiere of The Bridge and this season looks good. I am not sure how I like Suits reboot, I know they had to get away from the non stop someone if going to find out Mike didn't go to law school but I'm not sure how I like the new interaction with Mike and Harvey on opposite sides. I'm also glad that AMC brought back Hell on Wheels for a 4th season albeit with weird scheduling, there showing the first 8 shows taking a month or so break and then coming back with the final two.

Have not watched The Leftovers. No desire.

I, too, have been watching The Last Ship and Murder in the First and I absolutely LOVED Murder One when it was on many years ago. Agreed that I don't know for how long the Last Ship will be able to go on and I'm not ashamed at all to admit that I started to watch because of Eric Dane.

I'm a big fan of the summer shows on USA. I look forward to both Satisfaction (enjoyed Matt Passmore from The Glades) and Rush though the latter seems kind of similar to Royal Pains, which I also watch. I also watch Suits and Graceland. I've been watching Gang Related on Fox as well.

Devious Maids on Lifetime and Mistresses on ABC are both light fluffy mindless shows that I enjoy. I started watching The Night Shift - that ends on Tuesday. Eh, it was OK.

I am totally psyched for tomorrow's 24 but very sad that it's the end. Was kind of hoping ratings would have been so good that we would have heard "OK so we can extend the story and go for another 12 hours!"

Oh, and Ray Donovan is back tonight. Yay!

I watch a lot of TV.

I'm watching it. It's an interesting premise to me, but I can see it being more than just frustrating. I get the feeling that the first portion of the season (maybe 7 of the 10 or 12 episodes, assuming a normal HBO season) will be about how these different people simply cope with the mass disappearance, and then answers will start to come. It's clear that there's more than just the one-time supernatural act involved, based upon the police chief's visit with his dad. It's just a question as to whether the show runners are able to keep an interesting story in tact for an entire season, let alone multiple seasons.

Well unless you have 6 hours of Tour De France on your Dvr we aren't totally alike.

I like most of the USA, TNT and FX shows plus am willing to give HBO and Showtime shows a chance. I even gave that Calle Thorne show one episode. Just judging by the promo's I think Satisfaction would fit better on Showtime or HBO. Plus they seem to run their course after 4-5 season, with the exception of Psych, I think White Collar ran out of steam and I haven't enjoyed Royal Pains much this year, my general rule of thumb a lot of Jeremiah and Paige usually means a poor episode.

I am enjoying the Musketeers, I'm a sucker of historical stuff and really enjoyed Turn even though it wasn't exactly historically accurate. I also like Power which I was reluctant to watch, something about Executive Producer 50 Cent, made me think it wouldn't be that good. I also like Halt and Catch Fire which I guess will be cancelled.

I tend to stay away from the network summer stuff but have been suffering thru Crossbones, once again the historical aspect, which has been okay but I don't think anything like true Edward Teach and Motive.

I think 24 cut in half has been excellent as they don't have to fill as much time, despite them thinking that 24 Fans wanted them to bring back Chloe O"brien and Audrey Raines for another go around.

I watch a lot of tv as well but make up for that by hardly ever watching movies.

Watched the first episode of Leftovers. I'm intrigued by it, and I will watch more. I guess the open endedness, and the lack of answers doesn't bother me, as long as there is eventually a payoff. I'll hang on for a while without getting answers.
