TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I haven't seen her background yet (not yet halfway through S1). But her scenes with Sophia were very well written, and I like that she's not a caricature (unlike a lot of the other characters we've met in the prison so far... quite a few of them I'd be happy to see stay in the background).

Piper is already annoying, but I think it helps that she's seemingly intended to be an annoying, oversensitive, uber-WASP that's definitely a product of the hyper self-involved world she came from. She's clearly supposed to be that way and it makes her character interesting, which is more than I can say about Ugly Teeth Girl and quite a few of the ethnic characters (that are clearly there just to be bad stereotypes).

They make the Nun a caricature...and Piper goes from annoying WASP (which I liked because she was the fish out of water) to annoying activist who also is an annoying WASP who whines 24/7. To be honest, she wasnt needed for most of the season and seeing as it is her story that is flipping pathetic.

(I wont spoil other things you will see if you watch Season 2 like what happens with her relationship with her fiance and so on)

Can anyone find Halt and Catch Fire ratings from Sunday? A Google search turned up nothing, and TV By the Numbers lists the top 100 shows from Sunday and HACF isn't listed (ouch)

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I haven't seen the most recent episode's ratings, but it's not hard to extrapolate from the previous weeks. I had been calling that show Low Computer Sun, but that hardly seems fair when it's only drawing about 66% of the audience of Low Winter Sun.

Better Call Saul looks like it will be a disaster too. AMC might just want to start running one of the last six Mad Men episodes per year.

Low a Winter Sun was horrible...this show is much better but it doesn't seem like it will last.

They are running the Breaking Bad series again starting next month. The episodes in The Walking Dead marathon drew over 1M viewers, with some topping 2M and Talking Dead getting 2.4M viewers.

It is amusing that Robot Chicken got 1.9M viewers. And the only show on cable to draw more than 4M viewers? The Last Ship on TNT.

Did anyone else find it weird that Earl and Darnell appeared to get along so well after Darnell cuckolded Earl?

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I finally finished Californication...not a great season but I liked the ending for the most part. Should have stopped 2 seasons ago though to be honest.

Obviously I'll finish that series, but I agree that the 5th season should have been the last. I think we both pretty much thought they would stretch it to 7 seasons at that time, too.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Netflix recently added Twin Peaks. I finished the first eight episodes (Season 1) tonight. I can see where this was groundbreaking TV 25 years ago. Conventional and weird at the same time.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Yes we did SS...there were some good moments past Season 5 but not enough to make it worth it.

Twin Peaks Season 1 is amazing...I made it 3 episodes into Season 2 and stopped. So bad...

The Psych Twin Peaks episode is A-MA-ZING!! :D

Yeah, I heard Lynch took some time off for other projects during Season 2, and the show quickly went downhill never to recover.

I see it as a crime time soap with horror elements, and an overarching theme of genre/80s parody.

Didn't he do "Lost Highway" or some other movie around that time?

717000 viewers. That's actually up from last week.

Wow, this is a stacked category. I personally think it should go to Spacey for HoC, but any one of them is deserving (with the possible exception of Jeff Daniels, but I have never seen The Newsroom).
