TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I gotta say, it is fun to watch people get upset over fictional characters though. :)

To address some points though:

Why would we get all that time to deal with the mother dying. The point is Ted is telling the story to his kids, they know their mom died and how it happened. he is not going to spend a ton of time on that part of the story because they were there. They wanted to know how he came to meet her. Seeing as almost every important point in the story involved Robin and how they each felt about each other the kids got how he felt.

As for Barney reverting back to his old self, that is pretty common after a divorce. He completely remade himself to be the perfect man for Robin and it still wasnt good enough. He is at his best when he has someone to inspire to be that way and his daughter finally did it for good.

The ending wasnt perfect (Psych is the only perfect ending I have seen in a long time) but I thought it wrapped it up well and was consistent with the whole point of the show.

That's why I'm having such an issue with the ending. I know it totally makes sense how they wrapped it up, but I still can't get over how quickly they moved passed it. I know the kids know she's dead but we didn't. I don't know exactly what I would have done differently other than introducing the mother earlier, but I just can't get over how annoying it was.

I totally agree with the other points, and about Psych. They wrapped that one up very neatly and everyone was happy in the end with a group hug over a dead body. Can't get much better than that!

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

The mother had a whole season of stories...I am not sure I could handle any more info on her. Hell they had a whole episode devoted to her story including her fiance who died and the boyfriend she said no to before the wedding. We watched her meet every member of the group at various times (instead of needing to do the forced "meet my friends" episode) and even got a ton of flash forwards showing what kind of life they had together.

In terms of the episode, yeah it is fast. In terms of the season, the mother got plenty of stories and buildup IMHO.

Anyone checking out Turn on AMC? Now that I've watched Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley, I'm checking it out.

How did you watch Californication? It doesn't premier until next week....

I plan on DVRing Turn and Fargo...that is probably it for new shows this season. Add that to Game of Thrones and Californication and I should stay busy.

Season 6, not 7. Season 6 is out on DVD.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

It premiered right after Game of Thrones

We haven't watched GoT yet, we had a date night at Oceanaire last night, and DVR'd GoT. Planning on watching it tonight. So that is why I wasn't exposed to it yet. I'm surprised I never saw any ads for it leading into, or right after True Detective.

I could have sworn I did see adds for it relating to watching true detective...maybe not

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Ah, OK, so I've already seen it. The season is OK, but you can tell its on the downslope.

I was feeling that in S5. Figured 1-2 more seasons, and that SHOULD be it. Many more WTeFF moments in S6 so far as compared to previous seasons. Just got done with the Air Force 69 flight episode. That flight was just a TOUCH on the bizarre side. :D

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I enjoyed the first episode of Silicon Valley.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Colbert to replace Letterman according to CBS. I hope he keeps the character alive...
