tUMD @ CC (2/24 and 2/25): This will be a quiet thread!

Re: tUMD @ CC (2/24 and 2/25): This will be a quiet thread!

In addtion, this movie was filmed in a small southwest Missouri town called Forsyth, I have actually been to Forsyth, Missouri, which is near the Arkansas state line. For many years my wife's family lived near Forsyth, but on the Arkansas side of the state line.

Really? I have some family from Omaha, AR.

Neat! I see on the map where Omaha, AR is, boy that is right south of Forsyth just a lick down the road! My wife's family is a little further east by Mountian Home. Cool stuff!!

I suppose I shouldn't say "from." They lived there for a few years, after they moved from Ash Flat, which is even further East than Mountain Home.

Hey Biddco, are you getting enough action in this thread? If you are I suppose you may still be disappointed in the "hockey" quality of it. But hang in there, as you know the best three days are yet to come.

Here is some hockey info. Colorado College has played very well on Friday night's at home, I truly expect CC to continue that type of play this Friday, and would be pretty surprised if UMD tied or won the game. Saturday is a different story, and if CC plays like they have of late while playing at home on Saturdays UMD will crush them badly.

As you may know, two of the top four offensive players for CC have been out with injury. This will really be the first full week all four will have played together since early December. Tyler Johnson (from your neck of the woods) did not play last Saturday, and I have heard nothing about his injury this week. My guess is he will play both games this weekend, but if he does not, his skates will be tough to fill.

CC has plenty of talent, but that talent is very young with only four seniors, eight sophomores, and eight freshmen. The defense and goaltending for CC has struggled for a couple of months now. Freshman goaltender Josh Thorimbert is pushing Joe Howe for time in the net. My guess is Joe Howe will start Friday, and depending on how he does he may or may not play Saturday.

One player for CC to keep a eye on is Archie Skalbeck from the Twin Cities who is straight out of high school. That kid has already become a "rock star" in this city and I have already met about 100 of his relatives. He plays on the same line with Tyler Johnson and those two are fun to watch. As young as Archie is, he is putting up big numbers (8-9-17 in 30 games) for a young freshman.

Do UMD fans get to see either of these two games on TV?

A true story all college hockey fans can appreciate. In early December Ken, Pam, and I traveled from Colorado Springs to St. Cloud, Minnesota to watch the CC Tigers play against St. Cloud State. The CC hockey team, the Wisconsin women's team, and us all stayed at the same St. Cloud hotel.

After the Friday night game which CC won, my friends Ken, Pam, and I sat down at the bar inside the hotel. I noticed a man by himself at the bar and struck up a casual conversation. Since I had consumed a few beers I think I said to the man something like......you look like some famous skier from Colorado or something. The man thought about it for several seconds and replied......no with a small smile. So my friend Ken who was sitting closer to him started a conversation with this man.

Turns out this man is in charge of player development for the Philadelphia Flyers and was in St. Cloud to watch a Huskie who has already been drafted by the Flyers. We sat at the bar with this man for FOUR hours from 10 PM to 2 AM (bartender went home around 1 am) knowing we had a special and rare opportunity to be with Derian Hatcher!! And he was great, very social and fun to be with!! What a great four hours that was!!

Sounds like UMD will lose Friday (unless they fix there awful Friday performances) and crush on Saturday. That would be okay with me, but more points would make me a very happy man.

Good stuff on your team. Tyler Johnson always seems to have a large contingency of supporters whenever CC is visiting UMD. I will keep my eye on Skalbeck this weekend.

The only way UMD fans will get to view the games is if they buy B2. In which they will be subjected to the FLOATING TIGER HEAD.

JT Brown will devour Skalbeck.

Um.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Holy crap! Just a few minutes ago I looked at JT Brown's roster info and stats. I had assumed he was some big defenseman. That freshman must be amazing! I'll have to keep an eye on him. Sorry sweetie!

I assumed the same thing but went and looked at his stats before deciding whether or not to run my mouth. :o

I usually run my mouth first, makes things more "interesting".

Hey ronmexico, you gonna join us Saturday at the Golden Bee? Gruidenbox is coming down for the Saturday game, he lives in Denver but went to CC. Check out the Tiger chat board for more details. Let me know!!

Why has my main man senior Chad Huttel only played in seven games this season?

To annoy you.

We have more defensemen who are better than him.

I see Tyler Johnson practiced and will be playing this weekend. Booo!
