President-elect Donald J. Trump has selected Representative Mike Pompeo, a hawkish Republican from Kansas and a former Army officer, to lead the Central Intelligence Agency, according to officials close to Mr. Trump’s transition team.

Mr. Pompeo, who has served for three terms in Congress and is a member of the House Intelligence Committee, gained prominence for his role in the congressional investigation into the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. He was a sharp critic of Hillary Clinton on the committee.

Yes he is my President (and yours in case you forgot) but this notion that everyone should have to suffer because they did this to themselves is stupid and completely beneath you. You want to be a baby that is your business but stop acting like everyone but you did everything they could to try and stop what happened and that we all deserve to suffer because of it. You sound like Trump...

No, not saying that at all. Those that deserve to suffer are those that didn't vote for Hillary. Plain and simple. That was the only choice that avoided this disaster. But, know that we're all going to suffer including me. Of that there is no doubt. Do I feel sorry for myself about that? No. Do I feel despair?" No. Am I going to curl up in the fetal position? No.

I am going to be mad though. Very mad. And I'm going to stay mad. Maybe bitter too.

I get that. But we have to step back and look at this intelligently. What if Trump's ego is too bruised to pick Mitt? If the liberals try to destroy Petraeus, then they might be left with a complete loonball for Secretary of State. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Sessions was literally deemed too racist to be a federal judge 30 years ago. But with this new administration, I guess that's a feature, not a bug. The Just Don't Cares may not be racist, but ****ed if they didn't do a very racist thing.

Big news yesterday was that Trump tweeted out a congratulations to himself on convincing Ford not to close some plant in Kentucky and move the jobs to Mexico. Except--brace yourself for this--that's not exactly true. Ford never had any plans to close a plant in Kentucky. In 2019, Ford had plans to shift some production of Lincoln MKZ's to Mexico, while ramping up more production of Ford Escapes at their Louisville plant, resulting in a no job losses at the Louisville plant. Instead, they'll just keep making MKZ's in Louisville.

So he saved zero jobs, but it doesn't matter because the lie is out there and any fact-checking is just liberal media lies. Anyone who thinks this is just going to go away because Trump is ineffective and will do a bad job isn't paying attention. Some call it post-fact, I call it a bunch of gaslit morons that have made us all enrollees in Trump University.

I'm ashamed to bring this up. But, at the moment, the interment camps are still the valid law. Korematsu is still the last decision on that.

Even though we've gone though a lot of shame over it, apologized, and even Scalia has weighed negatively in on it- Korematsu is still the last decision on it, and is still valid.

However, there was a little know Bush EO that is likely to go into place, again- where people of specific countries (10) had to be registered to be here in the country. It just so happens that 9/10 were Muslim. Again, however bad that sounds, it held up in court, and was only turned off in 2011 by Obama.

(on a side note- the recent cries that Obama was being unconstitutional with his EOs on immigration- the courts have given the executive branch rather wide leeway in their ability to use EO's to do that. Certainly, it's "unconstitutional" this time is that they don't like the policy)

To me, it's more a reflection of our society. Scalia called it equal to Dredd Scott. I'm sure it would be overturned pretty quickly, but when don's team speaks of that being legal, they actually are right. And it's sad that in can be brought up as legal standing and a "good" idea.

They dont have to destroy him...he plead guilty to the crime. He is unfit period. It is one thing if his only issue was the affair but he admitted to passing her classified intel and plead guilty to it. Sorry I am all for bending without breaking but this one needs to be a line in the sand.

When Hillary gave it to her maid it was no big deal though.

Think with all the nominees people need to be fair as far as the good and bad. It's sad to see people only focus on one side of it.

Given the current state of the law, yes. I bet it can be interpreted as anyone as a "threat". Like the questionable defense law brought up a few pages ago.

Scary that it's still the law of the land.
