And only a few lines of incoherent insanity after giving Trump credit for making it happen in his first week they point out that it has been considered since at least June. I hear he prevented a Ford plant from closing too. But how will the Chinese and Mexican children be fed if we take all their parents jobs? The regret I have for clicking that link...

I'm with Handy on this. The guy plead guilty of passing classified documents on to his mistress. Should have been charged with treason. He deserves no, nor should be offered any, position in government service ever again.

There are standards, there are laws, for a reason. Slippery slopes and all.

For one, the FBI even said that the documents on Hillary's computer that did end up being classified, were not properly marked as so. There's a procedure that must be followed when marking stuff classified, so people know that it's classified, and in the case of these documents, it wasn't done correctly.

I gotta admit though...it will be kind of funny to watch the GOP leadership and two faced rats like Newt and Rudy invent new yoga poses to try and make it seem ok. :D

Again, I know people want to pretend that being accused of something is the same as admitting to it but it just isnt. Petraeus should have gone to jail for what he admitted to (as we have seen a civilian would have) but he got a sweetheart deal and his punishment is the disgrace he got from resigning and never being trusted with State's Secrets again.

Pragmatically the GOP should be all over not letting this happen! If he becomes SecState the fallout will be hard to manage. Not to mention Trump who is already feeling blowback because of his attitude towards ObamaCare and the fact that he is breaking every promise that got him elected. If they put forth someone who admitted to doing what they promised to lock Hillary up for I would put the odds very likely they get bent over a barrel in the midterms and Trump is a one term President. (insert Scooby retort here) Put it this way...Giuliani makes more sense and has less backlash all the way around.

As for Sessions...well these are the types of things that the DNC (whoever is in charge) need to pound away on for the next 2 years. Ellison or Dean or whoever is in charge needs to make decisions like that the "Hillary Emailz!!!1!" of the Left. Dont just focus on the racial implications of everything Trump does, but make a list of all the promises he made that he broke and show how each one destroys the people. Show the selfish how they are being screwed. Every interview, every show, every time they speak and it is shown on CSPAN they need to remind people who these people are and why they are screwing you over. Repetition breeds truth Trump proved that.

I disagree - RO is pretty effing white in my recent experience. What is a bit surprising, is that the RO renaissance of the last 15-20 years is largely due to young people. Which is not supposed to be one of Trump's demos.

On the other hand, RO is also the drunkest suburb of Detroit by far. So, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thats a decent thought, certainly better than anyone else on here has been able to come up with.

I was reading some of the old stories on Petraeus tonight and it really is a fascinating case. If mistress #1 doesn't go psycho and mistress #2 doesn't report it to an FBI agent she knows he probably never would have been caught. It's surprising, and at least to me doesn't make any sense, that the mistress who was in possession of the classified information was never charged with anything. She actually had classified info from other sources too.

I hope Sessions or whoever is AG doesn't spend any time trying to prosecute Hillary. It would be best to draw a line under the whole situation and move on. Her career is finished and country should be focused on more important matters.

I hope democrats don't let their hatred for Trump and conservatives overshadow how wonderful some (not all) of the people he has nominated are. As far as I'm concerned the people who go to the service academies are the best our country produces and should be respected regardless of politics.

While that is true in general it is not true in total. Not everyone who goes to a service academy is worthy of higher office and I am guessing you know that.

The Dems should definitely not play hardball with everyone, they should pick and choose their battles. Petraeus needs to be one of them though. The man ruined his career and violated his oath. There are better men to represent us...ones who wont compromise state secrets because of a piece of tail.
