Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

How can you say the UP is better than WI? We need some sort of unbiased intermediary to be the judge of this. Any takers?
Having not spent time in either, I would say they both suck. But, I have a massive eastern bias.

Well that's your problem right there. You don't like beer, get the hell out. ;)

As much as WI does suck, I don't think FL will be an improvement.
Not intelligence wise. Some of the dumbest people in the country live in Florida.

Models live in Florida. Florida wins.
See my comment above.

No it isn't. Going to the basement for a few minutes isn't the same as evacuating for a few days and boarding up windows. While I am guessing the vast majority of people in the upper midwest have not been directly impacted by a tornado, I think I can safely assume that the vast majority (perhaps all) of those living in Florida for at least a few years have been impacted by a hurricane.
Eh, I disagree. I like to see my weather coming, give me a Hurricane over a Tornado any day. Which is another reason to move back to Connecticut. Even though we'll be on the shoreline, Long Island takes the brunt of any weather, including Hurricanes. :)

One other interesting note about Tornadoes. We get them from time to time in NC, the scary part for me is that we don't have a basement. Yeah, I'm not sure who the rocket scientist was who that this was a good idea. :(

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

I don't think I'd want to live in Florida. Too many old people and Cubans. And I'll take tornado country for as long as I'm not in the direct path of one.

Does the yoop get many tornados? I don't remember one when I was there, but I wasn't ever up there during the summer.

Which reminds me... Florida is in Tornado country. Especially central Florida where Disney is. I even been kicked off of rides there due to Tornado warnings. So, I guess WI/UP wins. :o

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

So you do admit that NY=NJ? :p
I dunno about equal to, but a lot of similarities. I mean, look at the state flags, they're basically color-shifted copies of each other:

NJ:
New%20Jersey%20Flag.GIF

NY:
New%20York%20Flag.GIF

How dull is that?

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

Are those three Shop Rite shopping carts on the NJ flag?

Also, Florida is so crazy that Fark has their own category for them.

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

Is it naptime yet?

Edit: Hey, does anyone remember what my status line used to say? It seems to be blank now, and I know it wasn't always and I didn't change it to be blank. Was it still "hates humidity"? Because I can't figure out why USCHO would've taken that out.

Did you recently renew Extra? Mine went away, too.

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

In honor of Harvard's visit to Cornell in the ECAC men's QF this weekend, and Cornell's visit to Harvard in the NCAA women's QF on Friday night, I've decided to change mine as well. :)

I haven't changed mine in years. Hmmm.... maybe it's time to update things a little.

I find this post to be relatively mediocre.

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

i lived in the u.p. for about 5 years. i've lived in wisconsin for about 11 months now. i'm originally from downstate michigan (lived there for my first 18 years). the u.p.'s better. not by much, but it's better. good God, wisconsin sucks. doesn't help that my main bar burned to the ground on friday, either :(

I saw that article and wondered if that was somewhere you were familiar with. :( Sad times.

And, I don't mind WI, but tUP >> WI.

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

I'm watching Jeopardy and there's a "s" words category. But there's also a swords category! What's fake Sean Connery to do?

Edit to add: I hate it when there's a hot girl on Jeopardy and she loses.
