Sometimes people just deserve to get hit by cars. You've been on Lark Street and should know that drunks wandering into traffic isn't something new, it's just different that someone finally got hit.

The guy was in a heap in the road, the windshield looked like someone took a sledgehammer to it and there was a lot of blood in the road. Here's the picture I got some time after the fact.

The ambulance took him away. They brought out the board for him but just put him on a stretcher to take him away. The scene definitely looked worse than I'm guessing what it actually was.

This is Rube. About to have some "Irish" coffee and head out for a nice steak lunch. Anyway, I've run into more incognito Gopher fans here than I would have normally believed were here. It's like a secret society. I even got a cute one to get a cab for us last night (although her b/f really didn't like me talking to her).

I have a feeling that we might be asked to leave the Ralph tonight, if we have that same beech usher. Related note: while hanging around, we were talking to some cotton-top gramma usher, and told her about the chant. She was in disbelief that the one whore usher got mad about it.

I'm back in the Motherland. :D

Things I learned while in North Dakota:

1. Drinks are cheap at most bars. $3 Guinnesses, $3.25 You-Call-It Rum & Vodkas (meaning I am getting Stoli/tonics!), $4 Irish Car Bombs.

2. Don't spank/hit a cop car. They don't like that. A UND football player did that. The cop car stopped instantaneously, and the (hot) female cop chewed him out pretty good. When he did that, I immediately thought, "Well, he's going to jail." He didn't. He did admit that while answering all her questions, all he could think of was "please frisk me, goddam you're hot."

3. The Ralph is just as quiet as Mariucci. There were times when we were yelling, people in the lower level/sections away turned to look at us like "WT Eff?!"

4. The security/cops there will get on you for ANYTHING. Dirty was in a loud argument with some Gopher fan, and a cop yelled at Dirty to stop. The cop looked like he was gonna kick the crap out of Dirty.

5. The Red Pepper is way over-rated. It's okay, but I doubt I'll have it again. Of course, I doubt I'll ever go back to GF again anyway.

6. The Ralph is really really nice, except for all that Sioux crap everywhere.

Edit: 7. They have blackjack tables in the bars. That was awesome. It helped that I won $45. :D

1. Duh, it's ND. Cheap alcohol is the best part. :D
2. So a guy can think a cop is hot and that's fine, but if a girl thinks a cop is hot then she's a whore? (You may or may not know what I'm talking about, but GLM will know and he will more than likely say something.)
3, 4, and 6. Yes the Ralph is a nice building, but a sucky hockey atmosphere with horribly conservative ushers.
5. Red Pepper is awesome! I was craving some earlier and almost thought of making the drive up there to get some. But then I went with BWW instead.
7. Blackjack rocks. I hope you were at O'Really's or however that's spelled.

I guess the guy crossing the street was an off-duty cop, and the guy driving was drunk.

I've often had the bars pay for my alcohol in Grand Forks. :)

And the fact you don't like Red Pepper means you hate America.
