Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

On the phone with Big Poppa:

Cellulitis is the initial report. Docs are still discussing. According to him, he's not going to become (his words) "crippy boy" and lose his leg, but no timetable for getting out the hospital. EARLIEST is this Friday, but that's unlikely.

Still getting info. :(

That brings back horrible memories. I almost lost my dad to it in 2004.:(

It sounds like they caught it early. That is the good thing. I hope he is better. Give him my best.

I will. He says thanks to all by the way. On the phone with him now.:)

Ok, no timetable on Big Poppa's return, but it sounds like he's in the hospital through the weekend at the least. His fever broke, and nothing's been said on surgeries, etc.

Basically, it's waiting it out, and he's sick of THAT sh*. ;)

And no, no hot nurses, according to him.

Hope he recovers quickly. Those open sores/rashes can be scary as hell.

As for the nurses, tell him to keep looking. In my personal experience (spent four days in ICU for a vaccine-induced meningitis shortly after graduating high school), the hot nurses tend to work midnights because they are young and have little to no seniority. ;)

I will pass it on.

Ready for a gross-out? He has a blister/boil the size of a baseball on his leg. His stepsister was grossed out, I asked if he tried to pop it, and he said if he could have handled the pain, he woulda done it, just to see her reaction. :D

I think my brother went through that a couple of years ago. He was (is) fine. Still pretty scary though. :(

One of my buddies has Span in one of his fantasy leagues. He is ticked because you don't get anything from a player hitting his mom with a foul ball in spring training.
