TRP: Summer, come now!

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Honestly, I eat fairly healthy. Get my grains and greens in, not much for junk food at all (about the only time I buy chips and stuff is if I'm having people over for a hockey game, and even then, it's rare). Avoid the fast-food except Chipotle/Subway on occasion, and the super-rare Baconator treat. I hardly drink pop, either. One Dew a day, for lunch.

You guys got me on Monsters, though. I really should buy stock in that company. I give them enough money.

I chalk my skinnyness up to genes, high metabolism, and physical job.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

I could be doing considerably better in some areas. Namely moderate exercise, and less weekend boozing. Food, I've generally got it covered - eat my veggies, only go out to lunch twice a week (though I do have a weakness for good corned beef and pastrami - at least it's real food and not McD's). Still, compared to the majority of Americans and quite a few people in my office, I could be doing a lot worse. It seems like half my coworkers smoke (more likely I just happen to sit around all the smokers) and many are fast food/pop addicts.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Yeah, you'll stay skinny and still tip over at 45 from clogged arteries. :p
Yep. If people don't get proper nutrients and/or don't get sufficient exercise, they can die of the very same causes (clogged arteries, etc) as those who are overweight. And as far as Brent's job goes, unless he's getting good cardio there, it isn't doing him much good. Lifting heavy objects repeatedly will make you stronger, but it won't do jack for your heart or lungs.

On my feet for 8-10 hours a day. I actually am curious as to how many miles I walk. You're constantly moving, whether it just be upper body with the twists/turns/lifting, or lower by walking around getting product/etc, it's somewhat of a workout, IMO (at least for what I do). There are roles where it's not a workout at all, I admit. But you don't see a non-strong/non-aerobic person in any roles/similar roles to mine.

If you're out of shape, you won't be a "forklift jockey," because your efficiency/production/whatever they call it numbers will show that you can't do the job at the pace that is expected. Not that we are all Adonises (we aren't) but we're not the 'MURICA! types either.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Yup. 11/4 playing in NYC. You cityfolk aught to come down and see us. We're aren't scary. Music in link in sig.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

well let's not go crazy. It's just a club show, but the first out of New England with this band.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Boston has a great music scene too. the part I'm happy about is that we're opening a new market.

And I have no idea what you mean by legend cover bands...

There are some bands around here that are ones you have to see. The Johnny Holm's Band is one. His daughter is now singing for the band part of the time, doesn't matter. Boogie Wonderland is another. The bands that get hired for corporate events, or are guaranteed a sellout for the venue.

Johnny Holms' daughter is smokin' hot. That's all I have to say about that.

Being on your feet for eight hours isn't at all tied to whether or not you are strengthening / improving the efficiency of your heart / lungs (which is what actual exercise does). While that activity will help burn calories, it won't do much to improve your health. It'll prevent you from becoming morbidly obese, but that's pretty much it.

What about walking outside from 7:30 am until about 10:30 pm?

If you're doing it at a leisurely pace, again, it's not doing a hell of a lot for you.

I'm curious to know what Brent's baseline blood pressure / resting heart rate is.
