TRP: Summer, come now!

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

When I looked at the local tv forecast, they all said 70-75, dipsh*.

And I do not want to see any food, smell any food, or hear about any food for quite a few hours. Thank you, State Fair for letting me eat about a week's worth of calories in about 6 hours.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

A lot can change in predictions in a day and a half. Especially a 5-7 degree or so swing. At the time of my post, no 80s. Re-box.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

The NWS forecast has been saying "warming trend" and "near 80" since Friday. The blocking pattern due to hurricane Katia in the Atlantic and the now-remnants of Lee in the Gulf states has been known for several days.

Re-re-box.

And I didn't use the NWS. Read next time. Triple re-box.

If the NWS forecast was showing that days ago and didn't change, it's unlikely the locals changed much, either. So that leaves us with just two possibilities: a) they are incompetent and FINALLY came around to the NWS forecast, or b) you didn't properly read their forecast or mis-remembered it. Whichever is the case, your source (whether it's the locals' forecasts or your brain) is inaccurate and unreliable.

Quad re-box. :D

Bolded. Underlined. Quint-re-box.

But summer is still over. The Fair ended. ;)

You can't quint-rebox that because your source - whichever it was/is - was WRONG and changed to match my source. :p

Meteorological summer ends on September 1st, technically speaking - which works out just fine for this area, since that is almost certainly the last time we'll see 90 degrees this year.

And nothing changes the fact that the weather this week will be absolutely wonderful. 70s to around 80 for highs, 40s-50s for lows, no hint of rain to be found, mostly sunny to sunny every day - just spectacular.

I agree with that. Today was perfect Fair weather.

Too hot. 50-60 degrees and sunny is perfect weather.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

I wouldn't say it's cold right now - definitely a bit crisp, though.

I'll be waiting an hour or two for it to hit 60 before I commence century ride #3.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

My God... Today was absolutely beautiful. Makes me excited for fall. Nothing is better than a crisp, clear Minnesota Fall day.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Anyone want to volunteer to be hammerpunched? As much as this past weekend was awesome, today was the photo-negative of that.

The one better thing that comes to my mind is, you know, not being in flyover country. :p

False. There is no where I'd rather be. Have fun living packed into building like cattle going to slaughter. I'll take my wide open space and not being able to see my neighbor's house.

Sounds horrendously boring; personally I enjoy the company of other people (it's called "society", try it sometime), and also not having to get into a car to go buy a carton of milk.
